This Unit is visible or invisible ?

Hi again!

I get some contradiction with information (maybe because the french trad I dont know).
I doubt about the actual statut of my units.

If when I click on a unit , i see this icon :

It means this Unit is actualy Visible or is actualy Invisible ?
 
It is a button to change status from being invisible to visible (or vice versa). You would use it if you needed the hidden unit to be observable on purpose, for example to guard a captive or other important unit. Usually as a last resort defender.
 
As you see it there, it's giving you the option to go into 'forced visibility' or 'standout' status. If you see the icon that looks like that but with an X over it, you're already on that status and the icon must be selected to be potentially invisible again.

I have another question, it's about "size matter". I successfuly merged 3 dogs ! making an unique unit (a sort of "big dog").
Now i'm trying to merge 3 hunter, but it don't work and I don't know why. Maybe it's untentionnal and we can't merge hunter ?
I did it in the red zone of a city, and all hunter have exact same force. And also, they are all 3 not grouped and not busy (I waited one turn before then they all get all actions points).

There is a status for saying the unit should make a surprise attack when an enemy unit that didn't see it wanders into its territory. With that status on (which will then show you the option to turn it off with a similar icon to that with an X through it being made available to the unit at the beginning of its move), it will do so and with it off, it won't, UNLESS the unit is using the Ambush Buildup. Same icon for that buildup but the difference is it's an alternative form of fortification. You don't want to be using surprise attack when you're likely to then be overwhelmed by the next attacks coming at you. Once your unit surprise attacks, it becomes visible for the rest of the round, making it rather vulnerable to the next potential incoming attacks. And sometimes you just want to stay hidden no matter what, such as when you're trying to get a criminal into a city rather than doing any damage at the cost of being revealed.

It's not a big 'dog' more like a big pack of dogs.

Hunters are not allowed to merge. Come to think of it neither should dogs be allowed to on the latest assets. Are you on the SVN or playing with the latest patch? It's not a big deal but it was found to be imbalancing and manipulable in unintended ways if you could split or merge a canine.

Hunters don't merge or split because certain abilities should be skewed in ways we can't if they could. They sure can use surround and destroy though, which is the mechanism intended to reflect the power of hunter teamwork.

I come back on this thread because I saw some strange activitys in the game about invisibility.
I don't know if it's intentional, but for sure, it's very unpleasant for the player, needing to micromanage for correcting manualy the issue.

Some people set "not visible" will return "visible" automaticaly without reason.
Example : a worker become visible after a work.
Each time an unit level up, it become visible again also.

Certain things do reset defaults. Thats something i can eventually look into correcting.
