Thread to Report Issues with new xenForo version 2.2

I now noticed that only the three most popular types of response are shown in the post (you need to expand the list, to see the rest) :)
I suppose that when there is a tie, chronological order is used?

But there is another thing, which is annoying. The "edit post" function has grave problems with smileys: it will often not allow you to add text after them (will keep the smiley at the end of even the new text). There are workarounds, but it is tedious.
And, of course, there is always the much worse issue with editing posts with quotes; can you even add any new quote to them if one already exists there?

I have TBH no idea, and I guess we can investigate that if we ever find a post with 4 or more reactions :D.

Yes, I've noticed the smiley issue as well. Often takes a bit back and forth before the things are at the right place, this is annoying :/.

I would not see an issue with adding another quote. I normally just get the quote into a new answer box, then copy it over into the post I want to edit. (is this convenient? No. Could I think of a convenient way? Neither)

There is this post, from the last page of the What TV Shows are you Watching:

As you can see, my "haha" reaction isn't visible, despite it being in a tie for occurrences (=1) with two of the shown reactions ;)
The reactions appear to be presented in this order:
First the one that has most occurrences (here, the annoyed smiley)
Then by chronological order (your reaction, the thumbs up, was made before the "frown" one and my own "haha")

I do not see any options in the admin panel to manipulate this.

Your explanation makes sense, but does not seem to be the case... I think. I unliked and liked the post again, so my like now has a later time stamp. It still gets shown before the sad reaction. So... :dunno:.

And sorry @Synobun for all the notifications from me trying.

Maybe the system recalls the time the same poster used any smiley reaction there, and that is a factor.
Tbh, it's not as if the actual algorithm would be very complicated; the forum can't even take care of smiley position in posts :p

There's a lot of weird interactions when one goes back and forth between BBCode view and WYSIWYG mode.

On pages with many posts from ignored members, going to the latest unread post often bumps you back up the page to an earlier (read) post because the page will momentarily load the ignored content and then hide it again.

This isn't exactly a huge deal. I'm pretty sure nothing can be done about it. But it's a new bug from the upgrade—it didn't happen on the old 1.x version.

It got updated now, btw:

It would be nice (from a purely trivia viewpoint) to learn how exactly this is calculated. Maybe it also has to do with smileys having arbitrary value.
Or it could, you know, just be suboptimal coding :D

thing keeps popping up on the bottom to ask me to allow push notifications, and I've told it "never ask me again" about half a dozen times now.

Annoys me too, but nothing what can be done about it.

In your profile you can disable for what you want push notifications. If you do that, you'll still get this notification, but at least it will not matter on what you click.

Like which?
I've not noticed anything yet.
Get a trial thread somewhere.

In a new post, copy and paste a piece of text with numerous paragraphs (as if you were quoting a news item or wikipedia).
Then include it between indent tags. If you post it straight up, it will be posted normally, i.e. if you open it to edit it or quote it you'll see all of the indented text between one set of tags. However, if instead you switch back and forth between BBCode view and WYSIWYG mode, you'll see that indent tags are added to every individual paragraph, even the empty ones, i.e. after every line break.

Something similar also happens with spoiler tags.

Uhm, not exactly, because it divides the text into areas.

With spoiler tags it's more obvious, because instead of having one area spoilered you have a lot of spoiler buttons and boxes. But with indent tags it sometimes breaks up hyperlinks and then everything afterwards becomes a hyperlink because the forum software misreads it and piles up url tags everywhere.

Thank you Guys for maintaing this awesome Forum!

I'm not sure whether someone has already said something about this but I noticed some small things, that are more nitpicks/suggestions than actual issues:
- A cool Feature that I miss from the older CFC version, was when you're in a Thread Page with filled Posts, and the next Page wasn't filled, it always showed next to the Page turner the number of Posts that are in the next Thread.
- Mobile: This is now fixed in the PC version, but on Mobile, Page Turner Buttons and Text (Previous Page,Next...) are always greyed out, even though I haven't seen those pages. It would be nice if they are only greyed out if I already saw that page. And the Page Turner Buttons themselves don't show up at the top of the post, only on the bottom of it, which is very annoying on Mobile.
- On PC, in the forum threads, individual Threads always show the last 3, 2, or 1 Pages of that Thread if they have more than 1 Page. Which you can easily click on and get to those Pages. Would be neat if the Mobile version would also have that Feature. And/Or show the last Poster's Name and Time of Post (But I get why if you don't add this latter).
- This isn't a Report per se, but I wanted to ask if Xenforo CFC now supports push Notifications on PC (Chrome)? I enabled Push Notifications in the Settings but I don't get any alerts from Chrome when there is a Notification. Would be nice not needing to constantly visit CFC to see if there are any new alerts, but have Chrome notify you if there is anything new. (Btw, Push Notifications work perfectly on Mobile)
- Also, are you planning to add the Civ6 Icons sometime in the Future?

I think that feature is simply gone :/.

For the grey: I am not sure what causes this. This might be the default behaviour.

For the page numbering, I thought I saw the right option, but activating that one didn't change a thing. So I'm afraid I don't know where this is.

You can click in the middle, where the page numbering is, and it will allow you to jump to a random page.

mmhh... you should get them. Please have a look under https://forums.civfanatics.com/account/preferences if you disabled them by accident.

Do you mean as smileys?
