Time for some bullying (or not)

I would delete the settler, there's 2 un-irrigable green tiles (we would have to farm via Pig Farm thus getting less forests although come biology a farm is about as good as a forest preserve I guess), a spice and some coast, it really isn't a grand city. It could always contribute somewhere down the line but it'll take forever to grow with +3 food surplus.

I had mixed emotions about it, obviously (since I didn't actually settle it). The primary advantage I can see is if we decide to pursue a cultural victory, it gives us a ninth city, which opens up the door to put cathedrals in all three of our cities. Cultural victory doesn't seem exciting, but I don't feel like we are well positioned for a different victory condition.

I think I'd bulb Liberalism, get Nationhood, trade for Gunpowder, start a war with Education between Orange and Blue in 3 turns, after the next vote. Then bribe whatever else war that is possible.

Sounds good. Wars are to our advantage.

I've also been thinking Culture is our best shot at victory from here... in that case all the techs we need are Democracy and Biology I'd say. For the moment I'd continue teching but we can start setting things up for culture. Then we can run Caste+Pacifism and generate a good 8 GA from Pig Farm come National Park. Cottage Horice and Cow-misser should do it.

The other option is to get massive EP but we have so few mature cottages right now...

After Lib tech path is needed. Why I need to know if we are going culture. Also should i keep the settler for 9th city?

Are we trying to pop more GS? See we are running 3 GS in Cowmisser. Or should I take them out and build HE quicker. Then spread Judaism.

If we go culture, I think we should tech through Biology but start generating GAs. We'd get a pretty good GA farm from the National Park city.
We'll need to trade some more in any case... we need Machinery/Engineering to start on Chemistry. Printing Press I think will be teched by Mansa so we can trade for it. After we'd only need Sci Method and Biology.
It would also be nice to have Rifling in case we need some units for defense, but that'll depend on Mansas I suppose.

Sounds like a good plan if we are going :culture:. I'd take out the 3 GS to get the HE quicker then hire artists if we're going :culture: to get some artist GPP going. Keep the settler for the 9th city, only thing is where to put the city:confused:
 
Well, it's either culture or get beat to culture. With that many Mansas, one of them is bound to go culture. If the objective is winning, then Culture is the best option. Otherwise it's a long haul to a Space Race (at least shorter than waiting on MM to DoW us).

The last option that comes to mind is massive Espionage where we revolt/sabotage cities going for Culture and steal our way to a Space Race. Much more interesting but also more difficult.

I think we can win space, but we'll have to keep an eye on Culture Mansas.

I think it's great that we can bulb most of lib and none of the Mansas even have edu yet. Would we want to consider not trading edu for a while yet? Holding it back from the Mansas might help us pull ahead a little since we would be able to build universities and they still cannot. It really gives us an advantage I would think. Any thoughts on that?

We should definitely try to steal more techs if possible, too. Securing philo was the highlight of my set :)
 
Our total commerce really isn't that impressive so even if we get a quick Oxford university our research rate won't be that great. That being said, we can probably hold onto Education for a bit more hoping to catch a few trades. Or bribe some wars, both seem fine to me.
 
Ok played real short round need some advice before I finish few more turns or just hand it to Kossin.

Started off by taking 3 GS out of capital to finish HE faster. Used GS to mostly bulb Lib.

860AD Trade rice to Orange Mansa for 2gpt.

880AD First to Lib and take nationalism. Barb HA destroys Marble quarry.

900AD Strated trading to start wars.

Yellow Mansa gets education 2 or 3 turns into my play. I thought about switching to slavery to whip out Universities.

Also in Lolco I can put 4 to 5 artists to pop a GA in about 17 turns. This is if we are going culture.
 
I'll look at the save in a bit. Nationalism monopoly isn't really that important since we can't build Taj anyway.
For Culture... I don't know. I'd really like everyone's opinion on the matter...

Edit: Yellow Mansa has over 1000 gold. He also has Chemistry from the looks of it. It'd be nice to get that money. Researching PP then Sci Method might allow us to trade for Chemistry and then we can research Biology.
Most important techs to trade are GP and Machinery and then Engineering.
Orange is researching Economics so Guilds might be available too.

Play 5~10 more turns.

Yellow Lib+Nat <-> Gunpowder+Machinery+Map+1060 gold

next turn:
Blue Mansa has a lot of gold. Trade some techs for Engineering+his gold. Nab Guilds if possible.
Start any other war you can.

Revolt to Slavery+OR
Spear'D needs Windmills, not mines.
Horice could build :culture: for 1 turn to get the border pop earlier and protect our rice.
re-hook the marble so the Hindu Mandir completes faster (I'd actually swap in a Jewish Monastery in the meantime)
Teno running an Artist, why?

Yayoi is going to need a Trireme (chop) and then another workboat before granary>lighthouse.
 
I'm always for culture, but only if we can caught the Sistine chapel...

Did we already pissed off every mansa?? What are we waiting to do so? a written invitation?
 
Just for the record, I think I would be just as happy to do culture. If we thought we could get some Mansas to DOW on us, then that would be more exciting, but so far it seems unlikely.
