Aye, laddie! My people hail from the fair land of Scotland, and it pisses me of when people think associate kilts with Ireland.
Remember, the kilt was only for day-to-day wear. In battle, we donned a full length ball gown covered in sequins! The object was to blind your opponent with lechery!
So remember: don't identify kilts with Ireland! Willy will come after you!

Actually, all the Irishmen (from Ireland) I know say that St. Patricks day isn't nearly as big a thing in Ireland as it is in America. Is this true?
Well duh, there is mush less need for celebrations of national indetity and culture when you are living in the home country rather than among the heathens.

You'd think that the Irish people in Ireland, being more Irish than Irish-Americans, would really go wild. I guess if Irish-Americans get rowdy, I'd expect Irish-Irishmen to REALLY go crazy. But I understand what you're saying.

Probably, it's big but not massive. St Paddy's consists a couple of days off, a few pints of guiness and watching the Football (gaelic of course, there's a couple of finals on Monday.) It's also a day where everyone ingnores whatever they do for lent.
