Tips/explanations for team play?

Is there anywhere on here with discussion of how to play as a team with another AI? I started a game as Catherine and I'm teamed with Isabella against 3 other teams.

So far it appears that I can ask my teammate Isabella to switch research paths and she always agrees, although she also can have an attitude toward me and I can to trade with her? It also seems like if we are both researching the same thing, the research goes faster, so I am wondering if there is any reason not to do this or other strategies for how team play works in general?

AI is a lousy teammate for a human:
- AI will spread his units equally across cities, keeping more units in more valued cities instead keeping most units in their front cities.
- AI will farm and chop everything runining it's economy, thus providing less research.
- AI won't come to rescue like a human would and if it gets attacked you'll have to babysit their front.

What you can do with AI is tell them where to attack and supply them with units. IE giving them stack of catapults or frigates, they will bombard city you plan to attack.

It's also beneficial since you can give them cities closer to their capital which won't ruin your economy.

thanks but I'm not asking for opinions on how good the AI is..... we've heard that cliche enough times on this site. I just want to have fun playing in team mode and understand the functions of how this mode works.. how do you tell the AI exactly where to attack? I haven't seen an option like that
