To all who do not know why CIV6 is great

Seems like maybe you would have been better off not "discovering" that it needed improving. I read that as you let the opinions of others diminish your enjoyment... That's too bad. No reason you need to come in here, summarize the negativity you've read elsewhere and then try to diminish anyone else's enjoyment is there?

Perhaps you should focus on positives instead... Just a constructive thought. But it seems like there are more of those than the negatives you are regurgitating, if you'll look at this thread and forum objectively.

And is the game perfect? Nope... But it is fun.

I really was waiting for the game and I am deeply dissapointed.

The game has already too much, in my opinion much exagerrated, hype. Thus my opinions should reallly not bother anybody. But still I can express them, the same how you can express enjoyment. Just a little balance would not spoil this forum, but I can feel that I treated as a vilian here, to dare to criticize. Moreover I noticed, I rarely receive constructive answers to my doubts. Mainly that I should be positve, wait, enjoy, or dissaper, etc., nothing much up to the point.

It's great because cities are spread out and require planning on where to put things.
It's great because of Eurekas and Inspirations that speed up Tech Research and Civics.
It's great because Builders have a certain number of charges, and can build things instantly.
It's great because of the Civics Policy cards, that bring a new angle to Culture research.
It's great because of Production and Gold being the go to things rather than Science.
It's great because tons of other reasons that I simply can't be bothered stating right now.

Yeah I agree with the OP.

I am fully cognizant of the fact that games are not going to be complete or perfect on launch. In fact, I appreciate that these days developers can and do improve the game post-launch.

What makes me miffed at Civ6 and what made me request a refund from Steam is that the problems with the game are so obvious that they show a willful decision to ignore them in the game release despite those issues being egregious.
  • The incompetent AI is obvious after a few play-throughs. It was obvious int he AI on AI game that the developers streamed. Given that this is a single player game, this to me is, by far, the biggest issue and one without which it makes no sense for me to play this game.
  • A lot of the bugs and exploits are also obvious enough that a solid beta test and drive to fix would have definitely detected if such effort took place. It clearly didn't.
So, it's not so much that the game is imperfect, it's that the flaws with it, in my view, are both fundamental and obvious.

Pros -

Districts
Policy Cards
Envoys
Builder Changes

Cons -

Poor AI, specifically in combat
Various bugs
UI

There are other points, but I think these are the big ones on both sides.

To be at lease once a little bit positve:

Districts - nice idea, probably needs some tweaking, but due to the fact that AI is not using them at all (more difficult than previous system) are spoiling the game, as AI needs more and more buffs again
Policy cards - overall good idea, much better than previous ones. Probably we will see that somthing is overpowered after some time. And if yes, this should be the thing to patch - small imbalance, or small change of mechanic - not major things. Just a digression.
Envoys - it seems that AI gets much more envoys than you do, again the poor AI code makes them hard to use so they need numbrs (I may be wrong, that AI gets much more envoys on higher difficulties, not sure)
Builder changes, apart from obvious exploit this change is OK.

So really, I can see some positives. But those small positives do not compensate to any extent the major spoiled thing in strategy game - AI. AI is the base in strategy game, to have the experience where you feel that your nation is competeing others. Right now, not to offend anybody, but I feel like in the playground. I can build chariot, plane or rocket... but what for...

I wonder just how many threads you will post complaining about this game OP.

Honestly, the OP seems pretty sincere to me. He is spamming a bit, but I get the sense of someone that is truly disappointed and is expressing it as opposed to a troll that is just trying to stir things up.

Well, Beyond Earth had a lot of these theads... Then they stopped because people gave up on the unfinished game with poor mechanics, silly diplomacy and incompetent AI..., and the game died. So my question to you would be...do you really wish people would stop caring and posting?

Will Civ 6 be a Beyond Earth 2.0? So far it looks like it. You just need to replace AI behaviour with alien behaviour and the diplomacy level is about the same, which means close to 0.

The fact that this game already includes nearly everything (sans extra civs) from Civ 5 BNW I'm willing to accept some downsides. I have no doubt AI will be far from perfect, but if we could get back up to the level of Civ 5's CBP I'll be very happy.

I can't imagine what this game might be like after expansions, and after the HUGE number of sales, they're certainly going to be releasing them.

Civ 5 was great, after we had to wait for BNW. BE was great, after we waited for RT. Civ VI is great right out of the box.

Civ 5 and BE were great, once you got past the tile, happiness/health and gold/energy grinding. With Civ VI I can screw up my housing or happiness, but it takes a bit of work.

Basically Civ VI is better from the start, whatever else you may feel.
