It's been implimented in the game with the "minimize pop-ups" gameplay option. You can also open the even log (ctrl+tab) and click on events to center the screen on where it occured

For some reason I thought this was only for MP games. Thanks alot, Oh man this game is going to be great....eventualy.

I could probably win much harder games if I had a to do list. Another good option would be to know when your cities have grown.
