If you want to play with optimum quality while not experiencing slow graphics, do the following.
If your video card allows you to configure/override software graphic settings, then do this: SET CIVILIZATION GRAPHICS TO LOW (from the game) and set your graphic card settings to HIGH (Use catalyst for ATI). When you set graphics to LOW, you will automatically get buncha check marks on the right side, so make sure u make the appropriate changes after you set the graphics to LOW (from the game)
My card settings:
- 6x Anti-Aliasing on w
- 12x Ansiotropic Filtering
- Highest Mipmap Detail Level Quality
Worked for me, perhaps it may work for you.
