So true. I once saw, of all people, Genghis Khan!!! build both the Pyramids and Stonehenge in Karakorum. Guess what resource was in the inner BFC (first 8)...

I had this happen with Monty. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. According the the Civ4 reference sheets here http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=236346 (supposedly taken directly from the coding) GK "very rarely" builds wonders, and Monty never builds wonders. And yet:
