beside the fact that this was my second sub - it seems i used a "wrong model" as source for my texture

at least at this pic the greenish part of the hull is not clearly visible. It seems now i have to rework the texture (and while going back to the model i can also make some minor changes to the model)
And if you had said this two, three years ago the texture error would already be fixed

Tambor Class.. very closely resembling yet still different enough to the following series, to have it upgrade to Wyrmshadow's Gato Class!

While the Turret and bow are similar to that of the Dutch O-16 Class and it shares other elements with the O-19/21 classes, the Swedish bofors in their turrets make it a somewhat individual design... though not really very visible at Civ3 size. I'd advise to use the repeat Orzel as a Dutch submarine or as a generic an ocean-going European submarine design. Only noteworthy thing is that Tom's version seems to be a bit larger than Wyrmshadow's one (while Orzel was larger that the Dutch boats it was based on).

I forgot that Wyrmshadow had made the Orzel when I made it. I forgot to check the DB also like I usually do. It was one of those days. Therefore after all that forgetting, I didn't record the size of Wyrmshadows Orzel to determine pixel length. I instead based length off of some of his other subs, Gato, Type XXI, etc.
So it's length is 108 pixels and Wyrms is 100 px. Hopefully some other subs like you mentioned can find a use for it.

Size-wise the only ship I noticed a bit off seems to be the Tone Class. Given she was a beast, I'm not sure if she was that short looking next to the American CAs. Currently updating my Civ WWII ship picture bible ^^

The length in Wiki was 189.1 m... This may have been the waterline length (and not the overall length).It doesn't say though. I base everything off the overall. The Takao for instance has a overall of 668.5 feet (which was 134px). Tone was 620ft (from wiki info) so came to be 124px. That might have been too much, I'll have to re-check.
If I can verify the overall length (not waterline), then I can re-render it larger to correct the size.

Also does Wiki often publish odd dimensions for ships and other vehicles when compared to other websites. Makes it very hard to find out which set of numbers'd be the accurate one. A WWII warship website I often turn to, states the Tone class as of 201.5m overall length, some 12.4 meters difference. Of course, I know not which of the two is accurate.
Edit: Combinedfleet.com states Tone's length at 649'7 Feet. That'd be some 197 meters and 81.5 centimeters (pre-conversion to a carrier hybrid). That comes very close to the formerly mentioned site's figures of the Tone's length at the water line: 196.5m.
WHile now we have three sites with three sets of different number... mhhh... I'd opt for the 'golden middle' by going for the Combinedfleet page data in this case.

Do any of those sites base their info on Jane's?
From Conways all the Worlds Ships 1922-1946 and from Japanese Heavy Cruisers of WW2 in Action both of the books claim the length is 661ft or 201.5 meters. Your right Blue monkey about Jane's it claims from the book issued in 1943 that the Tone Class is 614 ft. So I would say that the larger dimension of 661 ft is correct.
