When Tony Blair came to power the school I was at got a new headmaster...they talked the same, looked the same and had great ambitions -our headmaster commisioned some bloody massive building projects with friends of the school donating millions to help.

Our headmasters speaches were interesting with "Carole & Jamie" being constructs upon which they were invariably built. It is obvious the headmaster wanted a brilliant school so his son Jamie benefited...I think Tony wants a land which is good for his children...and his drive to look good is vital if you want to win elections with large majorities (and making the opposition look pants is a good idea too).

He dosn't even NEED to worry about his image as much as he does. With the Tories still fighting among themselves Labour will probably win the next election too.
You'll know when he thinks he'll lose - he'll retire and let someone else take over.
