 It's really surprising to find out the ages of all the civfanatics. I expected Zarn, FB, and esp. Puglover to be a lot older. As for me, 14. Started on CCTP about three years ago, then bought CivIII. Seems to be the only game I don't get bored of.

Wow, love seeing the number of players in the 10-20 bracket. Warms my heart to know they arent all lost in the shooter genre.

Im 37, been playing games since pong/Atari2600 in the late 70s, early 80s. I play just about everything, and have a PS2 for the mindless carnage I occasionally crave. But Civ3/PTW have long since paid for themselves. No game has kept me coming back like it has. Perfect? No. Fun? Oh yea.

Im 17, and I'm actually kind of surprised at how many people much older than me play this game. It's nice to know that it isn't just a bunch of kids playing my favorite game:) I think it's cool that one game can appeal to a broad range of people.

I'm 20 and have been playing Civilization since my much older cousins got me addicted a generation ago. I've now taught my much younger cousin (the son of my much older cousin) to play Civ3, like his father taught me to play Civ1. Will he teach my son to play Civ6 in the future?

EDIT- I since have turned 21.

19. I probably would be playing shooters if I ever got around to upgrading my computer. But since that's not likely to happen any time soon I think i'll just stick around here :)

I stumbled onto Civ 1 on the Amiga only because I returned a broken game and they wouldn't refund :)

I'm 42. My little brother got me hooked on Civ when he showed me the original Civilization a long, long time ago. Let's see, now... My youngest is 9 and he was maybe about a year old back then. Guess I've been Civving since about 1994 or 1995. Time really does fly when you're having fun! ;)

15, turning 16th in May. Started playing CivIII (and thats all) last March and stopped for the whole summer (broken disk, too cheap to buy a new one) and than played in late August through December and than got new games. Havent played much besides MP.

My friend bought Civ2 for the PS1 in a bargain bin for $3. Talk about missing your target audience. Civ on playstation....

Crap, somebody figured it out. Time to change, I guess:) You mean they still teach Latin in H.S.?
It had also gotten my attention so I googled it. One of the googles is (hope you don't mind...) :

Illegitimis non carborundum: phrase of Roman law, Dig. 19 tit.2 s.13, referring to the legal doctrine whereby illegitimate children could not avail themselves of the right, granted under Theodosius and later emperors, to free medical care for gum disease and tooth loss incurred as a consequence of grit in flour from the imperial mills distributed by the praefectus annonae.

Hi, I just turned 40, so life's just begun :D
I started playing civ2 on the Mac together with my husband. I'm still trying to get him to play civ3 too. But seeing me spend this much time, he is being sensible sofar. It's good one of us is...

Wow. I'm surprised to see the difference in ages. I knew civ 3 had a broad appeal, but for a game to be enjoyed by such a wide range of players, it must be accessible and have killer gameplay.

I am currently 30 and have been a video game addict since the old atari 2600 (early 80s for you young'uns). Unfortunatly, I only discovered the civ series last December. Now I am hooked for life (or at least until civ 4 comes out).

Well, right thirty.

I guess I am typical of my age. Started with Civ 1 and got older with it.

Started games (and computers) by discovering Civ1 when I was in Ireland (sometimes I regret it considering the amount of wasted time). Hooked since then though Civ3 dissapointed me for its lack of editorial functions for scenarios.
