Wow... quite an age variance going on here...

I'm 21 since December, and have been playing Civ games since, well, the board game when I was a wee one... and then the computer games since 1992 or 1993. Picked up all the silly little expansions for Civ2. Back in the day when I had dial-up internet I irritated my whole family by using up all our minutes over night downloading anything I could find. Mods, Maps, anything. Hahaha... oh Civ, you really have enthralled me.

sounds like you're hooked... Ain't we all, ain't we all...
btw: welcome to the forums

13, and I think I'll be hooked on this game for the rest of my life!

This age question is a good one. But like one of you noted - we need to be careful about how much we play. My wife is miffed that I'm on the computer so much now, can't understand how one could go on for hours. But I can't understand anyone's watching Maury, Angel or 90% of the other stuff on TV. I'm 46 now and find the game an escape. Sure seem to be escaping alot lately. Well I've got a diff question so scuuzz me while I jump posts.

Praetorian: You're not too old to play civ, but the avatar... :-)

I am 31 and have been playing Civ and it's successors since 1992. At the time pretty much my whole class at school was hooked on the game! :D

After that I have been playing Colonization (still my favorite), Civ 2 (not until the late 90's though), SMAC (which I think is the best of the series), CTP (only for a short time though) and Civ 3 (.... which I put aside very early on because I still feel that there's more to be gotten out of Civ 2). I don't play games as often as I would like to but when I do I always return to Civ...

Well I'm 29 years old and I have been playing Civ for more then 10 years I guess, I don't remember when Civ1 got released but I started to play it as soon as it got released though.

My girlfriend (who I live together with) complains about that I play it too much even though I barely play it a few hours once a week. Though she thinks that Civ3-C looks interesting but she doesn't want to try it...it seems like she is too afraid about getting addicted to it. She doesn't want to end up like me...lol

Hmm..we will see, someday she might try it after all...I don't know if I fear or eagering awaiting that day...LOL :sheep:

My son (6) would add his bit but he can't read yet. Anyway, he keeps saying "Get them blue ones over there" while looking over my shoulders. And he loves making maps in the Editor......

14 here.

14, I'm more kinda off and on
play a game of civ, play other games for a while, play a game of civ, play other games for a while.
Test of time is da best, YEAH!!!!
