The deployment of drones to combat areas has no doubt had an intense psychological toll on the unmistakably adorable killing machines that we as a nation would be remiss to ignore. Of the many lessons learned in the Vietnam War, most significant among these is that post-traumatic stress disorder is real, and that it can have devastating consequences if left untreated. Tales abound of post offices that hired troubled veterans being wreathed in chaos as seemingly mild-mannered army privates turned their weapons on the hapless people they had once been eager to serve. We should be sensitive in applying the knowledge of this condition to the war climate of the modern day, not just in the treatment of traditional soldiers, but in electronic ones as well. When it comes to treatment for PTSD, drones are surprisingly absent in the rosters of those soldiers looked after and cared for. The terrible consequences of this negligence will make themselves clear after the first cases of drones returning home to their drone families only to become a tragic front-page story the next day start rolling in.

This is to say nothing of the general unpleasantness to which drones are subjected on a daily basis. Being forced to lodge in cramped, uncomfortable crates and boxes, and given the worst quality of care in terms of transportation and benefits (drones receive NO salary) - all of this on top of the duress of day-to-day combat would weigh a heavy toll on any soldier's heart, and I submit that the dereliction of our administration in the proper care and maintenance of the brave drones that serve our country every day represents nothing less than unceremonious torture, and we should make it a priority to right this most egregious wrong.

oh yeah , and all those Brown people who fire on them , never minding the Whiter variety .

My old hometown of Fayetteville, North Carolina gained the moniker 'Fayettenam' after that war ended and returning soldiers turned on their families in blood orgies.

I am afraid that the bustling city 01 will earn the moniker 101 as the same thing happens. Where the hell is the VA in all this mess?? Clearly, they have abdicated their responsibility to care for these wounded warriors. I say until they all recieve 3 battery a month pensions, we must march for their circuit rights!

Nerve staple them.

Let torture torture itself. And quite rightly, imo. It deserves to feel bad about itself.

Meanwhile, the drones can just drone on and on. Irritating I know. But largely harmless.

harmless to whom , their owners naturally . They deserve what happens to them considering what they do to others .

Ahem. I meant "drone" as in a person who drones on and on with usually uninteresting talk. Or possibly the male bee.

(Just my pathetic attempt at levity, r16. I do realize the aircraft drones are an insidious threat to life and liberty in reality.)

This thread makes me ask myself,

Is there a difference between animals and robots:

If yes, if yes, it implies that animals have some sort of soul, spirit, and so humans, so there is a true religion.

If not, animals are only mere Things, and the preoccupation for animal torture is a phylosophical mistake.

Ahem. I meant "drone" as in a person who drones on and on with usually uninteresting talk.

may God help us all when ı become interesting .

Can animals feel pain?

As a rule, yes. For the same reasons we can.

Interesting fact: everyone seems to agree that someday we'll build a computer powerful enough to emulate or replicate consciousness, that presumably would be capable of feeling pain under the right input conditions. Which means we can also build the same thing entirely out of moving pieces of steel if we wanted to.
