This is a two player game using Eric A's fantastic revision of the WWII in the Pacific C3C scenario. We will be using the TOS 3.7 version.

I (Aksully aka Sully) will manage the Forces of Nippon and TechGuy will lead the Allies. TG is fresh off an impressive win as the Japanese over 3 Allied players. We'll see if I can meet this challenge:confused:

We have agreed to the following rules of engagment;

1) 4 units per AF
2) Cities must be empty before trading
3) No trading cities until April 1942 or Philippines falls
4) No negative treasury research (ie, researching with negative income and not able to pay for it next turn)
5) No city flipping

I will be playing the opening turn today. This should be quite a battle.

Daihon-Ei Imperial General Headquarters: War Declared Against the US and CW Forces
Finally war has come against the Imperialistic United States and CW Forces. Here is a summary of the opening attacks of December 1941.

Malaysia Theater
Bhuket, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore were captured. The 11th and 9th Indian, 8th Australian Divisions, 1st Malaysian Inf Bdge, and Flak were KIA. With this theater secured, Newly formed IJA Divisions turned north and begin to approach Rangoon...the doorway to Burma.

A rather conservative Japan first move...

The Allies counterattack wherever they can.

US Summary:
- 1 SNLF, 1 light tank killed near Manilla after bombardment from the remnants of the US Phillippines squadron. No losses.
- lost 1 dd to dd near Davao

CW Summary:
- cut rubber near Kuala Lumpur and Pnom-Penh
- ANZAC garrisons counterattack near Sibu. Lost 1 ANZAC, killed 1 paratrooper.
- killed 1 guerilla near Rangoon. Road S of Rangoon bombarded by artillery

China Summary:
- cut last rubber near Hue (the Japanese cannot draft anymore) with planes
- cut 2 tiles of road N of Kaifeng with planes
- guerilla spikes two artillery guns near Kaifeng

Dutch summary:
- DD Van Nes sinks I-boat near Tenate

Daihon-Ei Imperial General Headquarters:

Hawaiian Islands Theater Kido Butai continues to seek out enemy shipping while continuing pressure on Pearl Harbor. A stalking I-Boat located the remnants of the once mighty Pacific Fleet fleeing south of Oahu and west of Hawaii. 4 BBs; the Arizona, Maryland, West Virginia, and Oklahoma, 1-2 CA's were sunk for the loss of a Val and Kate squadrons. The BB Pennsylvania and a couple of DDs is all that remains.

Philippine Islands Theater:US Inf Div east of Manila KIA by IJA Inf and radar tower destroyed. City bombarded, units redlined and Coastal Fortress destroyed.
Enemy SS SW of Manila sank a CA and in turn was sunk by a CA. And 2 US DDs, Bulmer and Stewart were sunk by I-Boat and IJN DD which became Elite.
Near Tenate, CW DD sunk by BB.
Near Davao; US Inf Div KIA, another redlined. IJN lost a SNLF unit.

South China Sea Theater: SS NE of Singapore sunk an IJN DD which in turn was sunk by another DD.
CW DD Tenados east of Singapore sunk by IJN DD.

Malaysia Theater: RANGOON CAPTURED after a bloody battle! Several air units (3? types unknown?) were destroyed. 3 Inf Divisions, 2 Flaks, 3 MGBs were KIA. Arty and worker captured. Mechanized forces push north towards Mandalay. CW Guerilla relined north of Rangoon and a CW Inf Division was also KIA. IJA losses were 2 Green Inf Divisions.

Borneo Theater: SIBU CAPTURED by Paras. B-17 destroyed. CW Inf Div NE of city relined.
KETAPANG CAPTURED by SNLF forces and a Dutch Inf Div and Flak were KIA. Another Dutch Infantry Div was KIA south of Ketapang.

China Theater: Chinese RM east of Naning KIA by IJA Infantry. Near Kaifeng, Chinese Guerilla west of city KIA by IJA Inf. Roads bombed. Taiyuan bombarded, some units injured.

New Guinea Theater[/B: RABUAL CAPTURED by SNLF units and Garrison KIA.

Pacific Ocean Theater: Wake and Midway Islands bombarded and units injured. Radar tower on Midway destroyed.
Enemy SS sank a fully loaded Transport east of Iwo Jima. It in turn was sunk by IJN DD.
IJA forces land in Northern Guam.

Comments: Continued with an aggressive posture this turn. The loss of my rubber supply prohibits me from maximum drafting of green infantry divisions. The last load made it to China though. I had two choices to make a concerted attack. I chose Rangoon due to its proximity to oil and rubber. I just did have enough units to attack Rangoon. I wasn't sure if it would be reinforced or not (it was) when I began the attack. The good thing was I had great arty results for the first time in quite awhile. It made the difference. The question now is....how strongly manned are Mandalay and points north? At least I put a small dent in the Chinese and Allied Bomber Fleet this turn. But his SS's played real havaoc as it seemed my vulnerable ships sailed right up to them! I had some missed opportunities here which I won't reveal. And a couple of blunders.

US:
- US forces continue their desperate counter attack in the Phillipines. After bombardment, the elite SNLF unit north of Manilla was redlined and taken out by a conscript GI division. The question here is, have the US depleted the Japanese invasion force in the Phillipines? Without taking out this US presence in the Far East, it will serve as a big thorn in Japan's campaign in the South Pacific.
- Bombed IJN TF approaching Wake.
- 1 NI killed by conscript GI at Guam

CW:
- nothing much here... the remnants of Sibu's garrison attempted to counterattack the paras in Sibu. Redlined the para but lost the ANZAC.

China
- furious counterattack near Taiyuan! Artillery redlined stray units near Taiyuan and they were summarily dispatched by green Chinese units. Also, bombardment from planes and artillery redlined the IJA artillery defenders and guerillas killed 1 MGB and forced a NI to flee. Two artillery pieces captured and spiked.
- Near Hankow, Chinese artillery redlined the MGB E of the city and infantry finished it off.
- guerilla units capture a gun near Rangoon and spiked it

Dutch:
- CA De Ruyter sinks IJN DD near Singapore
- DD Van Nes sinks IJN DD near Tenate
- Coastal artillery sinks IJN CA near Davao

Comments: That was a nasty blow in Rangoon. Didn't expect that one at all. But China is going to turtle up real good soon. I'm actually quite surprised that I could hold on to the Phillipines... I don't know if Sully just don't want me to trade cities or was it he couldn't apply enough pressure, but it's certainly going to get nasty for Japan if this keeps up.

TechGuy said:
- cut last rubber near Hue (the Japanese cannot draft anymore) with planes
Ah! If only I had realized this in another game... this is a bad blow for the Jap forces.

Daihon-Ei Imperial General Headquarters:

Hawaiian Islands Theater
US SS are thick in the area. 2 SS's north of PH were sunk after sinking an I-Boat and IJN DD. They in turn were sunk.
Pearl Harbor was bombed and citizens were KIA.

Pacific Ocean Theater:: Wake Island CAPTURED IJN Forces captured the island via a shuttle of transports from the Marianas. Remnants of the garrison retreated to the jungle northeast of the airfield.
Guam Captured IJA forces capture the strategic allied possession in the Marianas.

Philippine Islands Theater: Japanese forces struggle to overturn bad combat results in the PI. GI north of Manilla KIA by IJA INf.
Davoa Captured Remaining US forces in Davoa were killed by IJN forces.
However, the Japanese situation is in doubt and more forces are enroute to elimiate the allied forces. IJN naval units are on high anti-air alert as the US has increased their air force presence. Casualties are expected.

South China Sea Theater: Enemy SS sunk west of Bandjermasin by DD after the SS sunk another IJN DD.

Malaysia Theater:/B] Guerilla north of Rangoon KIA by CE. Mandalay Captured

Borneo Theater: Guerila south of Ketapang KIA by SNLF. DD Korteneur Sunk by IJN DD.

China Theater: Naning Captured by IJA INF Division.
Radar Tower east of Ningsia destroyed by air units. Guerilla KIA by IJA Inf Div NW of Kaifeng.

Celebes Sea Theater: 2 Dutch Inf Div KIA by IJA units near Tenate.

Solomen Sea Theater: Enemy SS sunk by IJN DD.

I've never had bad combat results in the PI as I have had in this game. As a result.. a significant air, land, and sea battle is shaping up given the US ability to fly in planes to threaten Transports. Along with its ability to produce guerillas every few turns in Manilla. It will take a few turns to decide the battle...but decided it will be!
