Bombarded units.

Okinawa falls.

DE NE of Pusan sunk, Japs lost a Zero against a US Dive bomber (and my bomber got promoted). That's the best thing that happened because my strategic bombers couldn't hit a damm thing. 4 strikes against a #$%^ing rice patty N of Nagasaki all missed!

Osaka bombed, city lost a granary. Tokyo bombed, city lost a pop. point. Some terrain improvements destroyed near Tokyo and Saporo.

Jap army in Sumatra bombed down to 1hp. Sully make him pay for it.....

Attack upon a Jap CA NE of Sumatra resulted in a Jap Zero being shot down (again by a US Dive bomber). Everybody else missed.....

Turn to El_Tigre

Sangkoelirang liberated, Paratrooper and Flak killed, no losses. The surviving
elements of the Borneo Expedition Force are pouring into the city. After several
months of bitter fighting in the jungles and mountains of Borneo, without
supplies and against a superiour foe, they are greeted as heroes!

elite CA east of Kudat sunk.

Transport near Singapore sunk, CA redlined (tough little ship).

Week 38, 1942

USA
Damaged 2 BBs and 1 CA south of Bandjermasin

CW
Near Sangkoelirang:
Killed 1 MGB
Sank 1 transport
Sank 1 DD
Lost one bomber to CAP

China
Killed 2 inf near Taiyuan
Killed 1 inf N of Hanoi
Lost 1 CE

Dutch
Bombard Ketapang,
Lost 1 inf attacking Ketapang

Ugly turn for Japan.

Tokyo bombed and captured in lightening assault by 3 marines. Imperial family under house arrest.

Nagasaki bombed. Barracks and 3 pop. killed.

Formosa bombed and captured by US Marines (not the one's that were in Okinawa).

Okinawa marines clear out the remaining Jap Inf on the island.

Jap Transport sunk N of Java. sBB Yamato sunk by US dive bomber. DD and Assault Transport damaged. 1 USA TB shot down by CAP. Now that we know where the remaining Jap artillery in Borneo is, we'll be sure not to go there again. If you had any dive or torpedo bombers left I'd be in big trouble. (Game note: the Yamato needs to be a 4HP sBB. Its way too easy to kill. I nailed it on the first shot. In real life it took something like 80 aircraft to sink that ship).

Turn to El_Tigre.

Payback for the Marine that drowned in the Transport near Sangkoelirang last
turn: sunk 1 DD and the Attack Transport with the NI/LT-Army near Singapore.

NI north of Sangkoelirang killed.

Eric, as soon as this PBEM is over, Misfit and I would like to play TOS in the
second round of LouLong's Kamikaze contest. Is there a new version we should
wait for?

Misfit, how about randomizing the position of Submarines and some defensive
units in China / Burma / Indonesia before game start? That way, the first turns
would be exciting again. Alternatively, there could be a house rule that forbids
killing Submarines on turn 1.

I will check the experence level for the Yamato, I may have set it too
low. You have to remember the real Yamato was sunk in one day, but each
game turn is two weeks. A TB unit is about 20 planes, they can do
a lot of damage in two weeks.

Yes, I should be releasing 3.07 this week. The main changes are that
China can no longer build seabees and that guerillas don't have stealth
attack against artillery.

I have also been working on a global version of TOS using one of El Mancey's
world maps, this is in the very early stages of development. I have named
it Hinge of Fate (HOF) after one of Churchill's books.
