TOS V3.05 PBEM "Cartwheel"

Tigre, I was just whining out loud. Don't hold back. Do what you have to. I'll do the best I can. But I have no doubt that the Jap position in China is untenable. But please...play it the way the game is set up as is. DOn't hold your punches. That would not be fair to me.

I guess it wasn't particularly fair of us to have Sully play Japan, given he has the least experience with this scenario.

Given some of the proposed changes being discussed, perhaps a restart would be in order?

Guys, It's considered a success in playtesting if you find something that isn't right. I have no problem playing things out. Now, if you feel I'm not holding my end up in regards to overall gameplay, then that's another thing. If so, just say it.

Now I'll be the first to admit that my gameplay isn't up to my own standards but that's more because of all the new changes I'm having to learn and get use to. I hope I'm providing some measure of competition for all of you. If not, like I said...just say so. I'm certainly enjoying being a part of your group to be sure!

I think El Tigre should continue to play as is and let the chips fall. Something else might pop up? I'll do what I can. I'm pretty easy to get along with and so I'll go with anything you guys decide on!

I've just got back in and have some time so I'll press on with my turn.

Oh I don't how I got two "Sully"s there? Just had a question from the previous page. Do we want to post screen captures of current battles and troop concentrations? I quess I should have asked if the Allies are able to share game content with each other? Of course you guys can trade maps so its probably a mute point. Now I don't know what the US or CW game screens show when its your turn....Eric and Misfit...do you see everything as that screen capture shows when its your turn? If so ...no big deal. Sharing knowledge is what the Allies really did. But I'm wondering if the "fog of war" just got pretty clear with that post!!! Remember that some of this is new for me as this is the first time I've done PBEM..so bear with me!

As long as Sully wants to continue this game I see no reason why we
shouldn't. Eric receives some more feedback on production and unit stats,
and if everyone has fun...

Concerning "out-of-game" exchange of information: Misfit and Sully cannot
see units that are only within my line of sight. Example: even if I forward the
Chinese map every turn to Misfit, China will be covered with fog of war for
him. Many screenshots and descriptions of unit locations have been
exchanged via email between the Allies. It is common (if not necessary) in
this scenario that the Allies cooperate on this level. For PBEM in general, the
exchange of maps by using screenshots is forbidden unit Map Making (PTW)
or Navigation (Conquest) has been researched - or the players have agreed
to handle it differently in a game rule.

To answer your questions: yes, the screenshot reveals information that Misfit
and Eric cannot see otherwise, but this procedure is allowed and even
encouraged in this scenario.
 
Thanks for the clarification El Tigre! That's what I needed to know. Helps me with the big picture of the scenario ....and makes sense!

Allied activity is very well coordinated in this particular PBEM. We exchange screenshots and activity reports as needed. That's why we have been able to execute so well.

When Allies don't cooperate as well (like giving cash to China / Dutch in the first few turns), you can really tell.

My last game with TOS was like that. I went after Eric_A's China right away, while the other players built up, rather than destroyed their infrastructure. After China was dealt with, I steamrolled my way across Indonesia.

As long as you are prepared to play Sully, I'm game.

Play the turn whenever you can, this game has gone well (as far as most PBEMs) go....

Week 10, 1942

I made a mistake in the Indian Ocean thinking BBs had a movement
of 5 rather than 6, I won't do that again!

We bombed and sank a CA north of P. Morseby and damaged a
transport. Also bombed marine on airbase in southern New
Guinea. Screen shoot shows marines landed NW of P. Moresby
 
Well, These last two turns have been tough on the IJN! Another sub lost and then Eric bags that CA!! Whatever subs I have left better head to port the way Misfit is knocking them off!!!

Looks like Eric must have moved SBDs or TBD's into PM??? I knew he had bombers because of the attacks on Rabual...figured the worst that would happen is that the CA would get redlined...but lethal sea bombardment just arrived and that changes things...a lot! You don't mention bombing Rabual which hopefully means my Zekes got rested and all healed....

Hmmmm, Must be some sub activity near Tenate???? About what I expected on the Kongo and in China....Sacrifices must be made. I don't have the save yet.
