I recently found and started playing Tekkit for Minecraft. If you aren't familiar with Tekkit, it is a group of around 40 mods for Minecraft that work together. This is a video showing you a tour of what I have built so far. This video is a good introduction to people not familiar with Tekkit and it is also good for veteran players who just want to see what someone else has built.

To join a multiplayer server, first, you have to find a server IP. Then go to Multiplayer>Direct Connect and enter the IP. Voila, multiplayer!

None that I can, unfortunately, as I usually only multiplayer with some close friends on private servers. You can probably look around on Google for Minecraft servers, though.

Fingers crossed. From what I understand, lighting is very hard to fix in the game.

I wish there was a tekkit pack for the most recent patch. We are still using 1.2 or something, none of the recent patches from Mojang are incorporated.

Pretty much. The lighting should be in shades and stuff, but there's an issue where it's just black in some spots.

Try busting a hole in a ceiling so the space is bound on 5 sides by walls and on the bottom is open. Then put a torch on one of the walls in that hole.

It's actually black in the box with the torch, then lights up elsewhere.

This will take a while, imho, because each mod will have to be compatible with multiplayer due to the ability to make your single player game into a LAN server.

I am on a private multiplayer server, so I figured that was the holdup. Until then, we found a zombie spawn box and built an XP machine with it, so at least we can get enough XP to make enchanted stuff.

I really wanted an enchanted chainsaw, too bad we can't do that. :(
