Tracking down a CTD

I was wondering how best to track down a ctd.

I use a variety of mods. Most of them have now been updated to the summer patch but CIV seems really unstable and even in the first turns I experience more ctd's than I used to before patch. I'm familiar with the logs and always check database.log, modding.log and lua.log. Right now they're (almost) clean but I have a more or less consistent CTD that I'd like to nail. Of choose it may be just be vanilla (patch seems to be so bug filled so...) but I guess it could also be mod related.

Disabling/enabling mods is not an option as the timing of a potential TD varies from game to game.

So how did you do it best, e.g. can you check logs to see what happens just become the CTD? Or is there a dump file that can help and if so how do I open it?

Good ideas are really appreciated!

There won't be an easy way to track CTD until DLL access.

ATM I'd register to all events if I had to track one to get an idea of the moment it happens, but it's not efficient...

@Gedemon Thx for the reply! That's what I thought even though I hoped one of you magicians had a nice little treat :king:

To tell you the truth I'm just about fed up with Civ right now. since the Summer Patch (which I tried desperately not to install since I had a good game going on) I've spent three days of my vacation trying to get things working; reading about mods, testing, looking through log files, reporting bugs and again and again I've had CTD's. They seem random but earlier this morning I had one that seemed consistent - then an hour later I can't reproduce it. Civ just seems to crash from time to time - and I haven't even done anything but start games, restart games and play up to 5 turns... :undecide:

Is it just me?
