Travel Through Time

The Apache and the other desert tribes sure meant business. I thought the Anasazi had the "ghost" on desert warfare but the apache sound like a contender.

The Anasazi, while certainly formidable, were more mystical and spiritual than they were combative. Ironically, from my research on the Apache, I've recently found out that the Anasazi may have been instrimental in instructing most of the early Algonkquin tribes in Shamanism.
I'm going to do some more digging, as some of my research of early legends clearly point in this direction. Since I've never before even remotely heard of this possiblity (and tbh, my knowledge of the south west is quite extensive), this could be a really interesting project. I'll keep you guys informed.

Edit; The Apache language is a heavy mix of various Algonkquin languages. They place emphasis on a variety of consonants and vowels, and mix in a variety of tonal notes and grunts. The Apache have no actual word for Ghost, only Spirit. But based on the tonal aspects of the context, it comes across as Ghost. I have no problem with it being used as spirit, in essence, it is the same thing.

I've also read they traded with Mesoamerica, which debunks the ideas of a primitive native America and speaks volumes of civilization in the continent.

Same here as well, most extensively with Chontal Mayans and the Aztecs. There is some speculation thet they traded with the Chimu as well.

Hey thanks for the info drak, that works fantastic!

Once I finish my WW1 mod I'm going to move on to my Test of Time mod (mega civ) and i will post about the diffferent native civs I have in there

@ Sog, how are the chimu coming along? Was the button what you were imagining?

NP, as it was really fun getting the info. I took a gander at the UU entry (I forgot who's it was) for the Red Shirt Warrior (Apache) and decided that I didn't really like the way it was portrayed. I mean no disrespect towards whom ever created the unit, it just didn't seem to fit. Hence my leanings towards Victorio and His Merry Men. Especially since some of my documentation includes copies of soldiers letters to home, describing their encounters with the Ghost Warriors. Pretty scary stuff.

What do you think?

I would say that looks good

Although i would put the moai as a monument ub, since their purpose is much more similar to a monument than a lighthouse, even if they are on the water

What would you say as a flag? Just a moai statue?

Also added victorio as a LH in my mod, drak, though you should know :D mod is coming along very well, can't wait to release it

Sweet! Sorry for my lack of help atm, but work has been really busy.

A stylized Moai statue would work good actually.

I guess it could be a monument. Come to think of it..Would a ship be better as a UU?

This year July 28 marks the 100th anniversary of the Great War! Would be great to mark the centennial of this War by realizing the best WWI scenario the World has ever seen! :hatsoff:
