Travel Through Time

Very interesting, Native American history has always fascinated me, its just a shame that, beside south of the US, 90% of the information you find about native americans is about their contact with the Europeans, there is so little information about before hand

Won't probably get to a button untill tomorrow

Any chance you are going to change the Missippian UU? They flourished untill 1500ish correct? yet their UU is for a musketman if my memory serves me right...doesn't make sense

I was thinking

<ColorVal>
<Type>COLOR_PLAYER_PALE_RED</Type>
<fRed>0.780</fRed>
<fGreen>0.282</fGreen>
<fBlue>0.239</fBlue>
<fAlpha>1.00</fAlpha>
</ColorVal>

For the primary color and a very light brown for the secondary. I think this red with a brown would work great for the Mississippians, as their pottery often had alot of these colors.

Yeah I've been drawn to Native American history, one thing I've learned is that their were many kingdoms and empires here before the Europeans came, the Spanish alone eliminated many, some so badly that their very existence was nearly wiped from the pages of history. So I've enjoyed learning about the forgotten empires and cultures, and I always true to more properly represent them in Civ.

I agree about the UU.

I was going to change it to this:

Bird Warrior/Birdman: Replaces Swordsman, requires no Iron to be built.

I'll subscribe and follow this thread. Might chime in from time-to-time, too.

Actually, that's fairly accurate considering they traded with the Aztecs and Chontal Mayans.

I highly recommend this link for additional info;

More images from that time period;

I'll see if I can find some more of my research papers fm college. Works keeping me insanely busy atm, so it's hard for me to be more helpful.

Oh good, then I was helpful. I figured it helps to have a few different images if your going to create custom asset art.

I'll Have to double check, but I think there elite warriors were called Clubmen <insert native language here>. Similar to the Jags, except they used ornate stone from the valley. I'll see what details I can dig up..

I've always wanted an Anasasi civ. For South America I'm surprised you didn't include the Mapuche on your list, I was thinking about making a civ out of them as well.

The Ahom are also interesting.

On the Rapa Nui I was considering using the existing Moa statues as their Unique building, maybe replacing the Harbor? I've been looking for other Moa statue graphics so I don't have to reuse an existing graphic. Considering the Catamaran as an UU, as I'd like the civ to represent other Polynesian peoples in that part of the Polynesian triangle.
