Treasure Fleets Spawning in Homelands

Okay, I know this has to be a bug, but it has come up multiple times for me now. In addition to my distant lands treasure fleets, my homelands are spawning them as well with cargos of 1 each on all my homeland cities (not towns) with ports. They don't show any resource tied to them, but under the resource menu they have the treasure fleet spawn timer. Is this happening with anyone else?

Spices, Sugar, Tea, and Chocolate that are on islands that you can only get to after crossing deep ocean will generate treasure fleets in my experience even they aren't on distant lands continents, whether that's a bug or not, who knows.

It's not a bug. Distant lands are not about continents and those intermediate islands always count as distant lands regardless of their continent.

It's a feature, as per the prerelease live steam.

Distant lands just means you have to cross at least one ocean tile to get there. in my current game i have distant lands 5 tiles off my mainland.

Not always.

This one doesn't (Homeland continent, separated by Deep Ocean):

There is somewhat a distinction between "True Distant Land" (the Silver here) and "Treasure Islands on Homeland Continent". For Islands belonging to your Homland Continent, they may (not here) or may not (the Gold here) have Treasure Resources.

It is a Songhai ability that treasure fleets spawm on navigable rivers in the homelands, so I'd guess you're playing as Songhai?
I think these only get 1 resource size fleets? At least when I played Songhai, all 4 of my cities on navigable rivers generated 1 resource fleets

Where in the Songhai description does it mention this? How is one supposed to know how this operates?

Ahhhh, it's hidden in the civ tree. I had just been reading the civ description in game.

Seems like something like that should be mentioned in their description. It's kind of like how choosing Mongolia changes a legacy path.

Yeah I wish we could preview the civ unique tree at selection. For many civs the best part of playing them is hidden in there.

Some sort or blurb on how each civ plays would be good. This really is the main reason to pick Songhai and it's very easy to miss
There's a list of all Civ and leader abilities on Fandom but they are missing that one, which is kinda surprising.
