But uploading it to the Civ5 downloads section is a good idea - seems to have worked: TreeGrowth v4

Doing a test run at moment and forest growth speed seems fine so far.

If it doesn't make too much work, additional jungle growth would be very welcomed here!
 
Looks like a forest can still grow on a tile that is currently being improved as shown on the screenshot.

I'll have a look at it saturday/sunday. But just a quick idea - could it be that this worker is automated and that the TreeGrowth pass takes place before the automated worker start their tasks?
 
No, I keep my workers manually. Not sure but they have been busy as least one turn in this case.

Something else:
Forests grow onto tiles with horses, cattle, sheep, wheat and possibly other flora and fauna resources. It would be better if those tiles are kept clean. I'm fine with minerals.
On my screenshot, you can see overgrown horses on the left and a wheat tile on the right edge. That doesn't look great and just makes improving such important tiles unnecessarily long.
 
Quick Update:
Regarding forest growth on tiles that are being improved by workers -> found the mistake and fixed it. However, whilst doing that I also rewrote the entire loop with jungle growth and forest/jungle not expanding onto certain resources in mind.
So please bear with me a little longer - the weather has been improving lately, so I've been doing more trainin' rather than gamin' in my spare time :bounce:
 
I'm glad you are still working on it. Sounds like it's reaching the perfect state when I never want to miss it anymore! :goodjob:
 
Jamez, don't forget at jungle growth that it should avoid Grassland and Tundra too.

Love your mod. But unfortunately the current version on Steam (V3) causes a game-stopping bug to appear.

when adopting "meritocracy" it somehow blocks the selection tab for the free great person. Bij deselecting the mod and reloading the selection works again.

Can I suggest removing it from there untill your new version is out?
 
First OFf let me say i really Enjoy the mod. I prefer to let my inner tree hugger out and save the planet ;) but, that being said any time i load up the mod and go through the Liberty policy tree and finish it out I can't get the great person. Also if i unlaod the mod and then load it up and load the game Civ crashes. This happens when either the mod is loaded alone or with other mods.

Any tips or hints to get around this> Or anything on how to fix it?

Again thanks alot for the mod when its working its great.

I wasn't aware somebody had discovered this before, but I just ran into it with the Hagia Sophia. When this TreeGrowth mod is active, the proper button for choosing a Great Person doesn't appear. It looks like this:

There's just a blue exclamation mark, not the big orange button there should be. It can't hurt putting the picture here, as then it gets a bit more attention then just with a couple of lines somewhere midway in a long thread. I'm running version 3, I don't see anything newer just now.
And yes, it can indeed be sorted by a reload of the same turn with the mod not activated, so if you know that it's not too bad. If you don't know and don't know what causes the problem, that's bad.

Nice mod, by the way, although I turned the frequency with which new forests appear drastically down. Some figure that reads '100' I turned down to '4' or something, as a couple of new forest per game is what I like better than a new forest every couple of turns.

I've encountered this bug recently in one of my occ games. Right after building Haghia Sophia I couldn't open selection screen to choose great person. It was a good game but I didn't try to reload game without mods and I just abandoned it. Now it seems treegrowth somehow blocked the option according to bug reports. :(

I play with V4 and no problems to report. Compatible with a the newest patch, i think no ctd or any other issues.

So is there any chance you or anyone else could upload v4? The link from fileplanet on the previous page is broken and the first post on the thread is apparantly v3.
