Troy city style

Ok, all pcx's have been put at the top of this tread.

This time I used bigger template from Pounder to avoid tiles overlapping city graphic.

wonderfull, but a question - could you aline the megaron to east west axis - for more historical accuracy, or am i mistaken....same would be for other religious buildings.

You told me that before :)
(...) game design needs these graphic inaccuracies for the quality of the product...i hope u understand what i ment.

I know that buildings maybe not exactly placed as on reconstruction, and size of them not exactly right but I was thinking how to display Troy set nicely. The same with colours, I just follow your advise because I thought is good.

That was a picture I used for it:

It looks like orientation is different, the same as you ask for but I know other reconstruction you can find yourself in google that shows Palace of Priam directed as on mine set, main entrance has the same direction as main city wall's gate.

Hmm I'll see how does't look, if good then I'll change it :)

what i said is just a suggestion, it may not look well if historical accurate, but i think it could be pointed at least towards notheast...i mean the megaron. that is just a mirroring of the current position.

I'll check your mod later, looks incredible :) I was surprised I haven't seen it already but because you put it to completed scenarios and I haven't been visiting it since last year.

I looks definitely like proper mod for me not a scenario :)

Well done!
Thanks! Hope you're having fun! :goodjob:

When I was active on this forum previously, people always posted scenarios in the Completed Scenarios thread. That still seems appropriate to me.

I don't know where or when this idea of Mods merging into scenarios came from. It used to be a clear distinction:

Mod = Something you play on a random map, with altered rules and civs.
Scenario = Specific time period, specific map, specific challenges.

Back on topic:

Good that you've put the files in the OP. However, there aren't any previews showing up in that post for me. Just the files to DL. People like to see previews in the post.

I will have fun certainly :)

I always thought that mod means altered rules and civs, graphics, sounds and everything what you can change, scenario is just slighter modification. doesn't matter I am glad I found your scenario :)

Thanks Anthony!

As per request here is preview with reorientated Palace of Priam.

Really nice work Stico, although I do think the camera should be lower for a more traditionnal point of view that would fit better with other terrain graphics and units. But the details, textures and overall feeling are really, really nice. Keep up the good work :goodjob:

a couple vertical statues or roman/egyptician like columns in front of the temple would give it that original touch. Small banners for civ coulour even better.

In overall i give it 11 of of 10 :D

Thanks you both!

@themanuneed
...but camera settings I have from this forum and as I am aware that's the standard :)

@RickFGS

"a couple vertical statues or roman/egyptician like columns in front of the temple would give it that original touch."

Troy city style I made is from Bronze Age, how could I add anything from Roman time :),
more something from Egyptians but as I know there wasn't anything like that there. I wanted to be as accurate as possible to display everything nicely in main game.

I meant something like the Statue of Apollo for example in golden/bronze aspect, on top of a stone/marble support.

But in an other thread you said
I didn't actually chose different camera angle just reorientated city itself :), so am guessing that you can do similar thing in Bryce.
Changing the orientation of the city changes the point of view same as moving the camera, doesn't it ?
