"Going after him" meaning firing him?

Lordy, you really are completely and utterly MAGA, aren't you? You can speak of corruption with governor doing something she's constitutionally empowered to do, when President Trump is systematically and in some cases illegally firing people especially inspector generals in the executive branch whose jobs are fighting corruption, handing out pardons to convicted corrupt politicians, and he himself is easily the most corrupt president we've had since Nixon and is probably more corrupt than Nixon was?

I'd supply a generous list of examples, but I don't want to make this post too extensive lest you ignore it too. Let me know if you need links to what you may have missed over the weekend.

Other than Trump being insensitive during the immediate aftermath of the jet/helicopter crash, I consider his second term to have been flawless so far.

I highlighted in purple the part you scalpel'ed out of my post to actually reply to, for your everyone's reading convenience.

And I just want to sort of let that flawless statement of yours sit there, because I haven't read anything quite like that on CFC OT for a good long time. I'll even re-quote it here, for posterity (and for anyone who already has or is about to have you blocked):

"Other than Trump being insensitive during the immediate aftermath of the jet/helicopter crash, I consider his second term to have been flawless so far."

And so... if you quite rudely won't respond to any of the substantive parts of any of my posts, and you blindly support Trump in every remotely relevant way, then there's absolutely no need for me to reply to any of your posts, and indeed no reason for me to read them in the first place. Have fun with Civ7. :wavey:

Any organization that doesn't tolerate ridicule or critique of its own authority or figures of authority, is effectively a cult.

Exactly, which is why the offense that a particular nation has taken to having their Prime Minister insulted is bizarre, and a very bad look.

The main issue is that the institutions in the US that are supposed to keep the whims of a President in check are non-functioning. Watching formerly "normie" Republicans defend and minimize Trump's actions and their effect on US diplomacy should be instructive in this regard. These people have been driven entirely insane by negative polarization. Many of them know how important consistency and "norms" are for international relations, but they cannot bring themselves to criticize their heroes. And therein lies the problem - madmen who are indulged in their every whim by a supine cult of personality simply do not make good negotiating partners.
For those of you paying attention, the death knell of this was when we killed Gaddafi.

Using vaccination programs as assassination programs just sped everything up, but it was already done.

I'm no Canadian, but I reckon the booing had nothing to do with what was said about the Canadian PM.

I reckon it had everything to do with the US President implying, that Canada should not be a sovereign nation (like the superior US) and instead should be added to the American Empire.

Oh, No!...anyway
And basic anti-Americanism makes you sound intellectually defective.
Intellectually defective, you say? If you had a single functioning brain cell, you'd see how disastrous, illogical, and unjustifiable American foreign policies are. A million people died in Iraq for an imaginary weapon of mass destruction that never existed; a long, winding occupation in Afghanistan only ended up reinstalling and weaponizing the Taliban with American weapons.

Billions of dollars are injected into Israel while Americans are homeless, uneducated, and unable to access expensive healthcare. And now they are "tightening" the budget to send more dollars to Israel to finance the carnage, yet some dumb peoples actually believe that Trump America's are for American?

If all those Trumpist are dumbs and here you are the dumber, dumbs and dumber, you support all of that, yet you are not even American. Sounds to me like your brain is suffering from serious fungal infection. Who did this to you buddy? what did you read that make you suffer a contagious logical disease like this? Your logic stinks from a continent away. Consider wrapping your little head with a sock next time you post here, because God it's stink!

Can you post a list of his accomplishments since Jan 2025?
How about during his first term?

Please be specific.

Start with a list of his executive orders. They are summarized on this page:

Refer to what I said about negative polarization. Going "but Obama bad!" when people point out that Trump is systematically demolishing the foundations of US global hegemony is just proving my point.

Whatever our personal feelings about killing Gaddafi, it did not cause our European allies to start eyeing the exits.

You made a really good point about reacting to criticizing our heroes.

Our personal feelings about killing Gaddafi are irrelevant. I think he was a piece of crap. But we had a deal and we killed him.

And the goalposts have been moved to Trump insulting people. Nobody disputes that. I don't even care that you insult him, because I am filled with national pride that he is such an effective leader. The problem is when another nation is so offended by his insults of their leader that they choose to boo our national anthem, which to me is an insult to all Americans. That's fine, it just means I'm hostile to your country now, and will express that view accordingly to my elected leaders that maybe it's time to step down diplomatic relations to a less friendly level.

lmao this has got to be a bit

Interestingly, I think you can kinda pinpoint the elevating polarization to the aftermath of the Nixon admin, and a perception amongst the right that he had been unfairly done in by the media.

I don't think it's entirely unrelated that this really starts to be a thing in the timeframe we see really wide ranging changes in norms and morality. It's usually the justification used by the partisan internally, "we are acting dishonestly here, but it's ok, because the other side are nazis"(substitute commie Frankfurt school Marxists if on the right)

Ideologues and common voters alike content to polarize.

Moderator Action: @Ordnael and @H4run lease stop with the personal insults.

And what have those EO accomplished? For example he striped the NNSA of key personnel. How did that benefit the nation?

If you're referring to abortion, it's a state issue. In other words, it's up to the people. Democracy is the best system, isn't it? Well it's up to democracy whether it's legal in each state. I think it's a good compromise.
A compromise? It went from having individual liberty to state control.

And then to interstate commerce in the real sense rather than the Wickard definition.

Business is up!

DOGE has already saved the country $55 billion. President Trump has restored fairness in women's sports. He has opened up the country to drilling oil and mining our natural resources. Border crossings are down about 95% while the most violent Tren de Aragua gang members have been deported. All DEI programs in the federal government have been eliminated. We finally got relief out to North Carolina and Palestine, Ohio, after they had been ignored by Biden. Our government is more efficient, and the only thing that has stopped Trump (or slowed him down) has been Senate Democrats throwing a tantrum and running the 30 hour delay on every nominee despite knowing they have the votes to be confirmed. Probably the best first 100 days of any president ever.

It might be instructive to compare European reactions to Gaddafi's death to the reactions we are hearing to Vance's speech.

Well, if you weren't making a point about American foreign policy consistency across multiple administrations, and instead are referring specifically to European braying... I guess I'm disappointed.

DOGE savings are undocumented and being rolled back due to violating checks and balances

What business does the government have nosing around in sports?

Until refinary capacity is built out, no amount of opening drilling is going to cause drilling to increase. Plus, if you cut energy prices too much, it will be unprofitable to drill in the U.S. and it will cut back on employment or hours worked in the energy sector

Neither was ignored by Biden, but good luck with those FEMA cuts

How is our government more efficient? Spending tens of millions to send President Musk's buddy to sporting events?
