[TSL] Yet (not) Another Earth Maps Pack

Sorry, I'm not quite sure where to look for an answer to this question: when I am loading a game, is it important for me to load the mod first and then load the game, or can I just directly load the game without first loading the mod?

If you are talking about loading a saved game, IIRC the game automatically loads the mods that were in the original when it was saved - you need do nothing.
 
I would say to use the "main menu -> mods -> next -> single player -> load" (or "main menu -> mods -> next -> single player ->Custom Game -> load hotseat game") path, because even if the game try to load tha mods used in the save, sometimes it fails to to so correctly for all mods involved, which result in crash or strangeness in the game.
 
im sure this has everything to do with the game and not this mod. I find it funny how rival civs at war will give up all their cities when discussing terms of surrender even when you are not on the offense.
 
Hey, love the mod, love the maps, they're all i play. After downloading gods and kings i was totally excited to play a proper game on large europe and the giant earth maps. But even though i had been able to play them in civ 5, they keep crashing for me in gods and kings. Really annoying. The first time i had got all the way to turn 278 (epic speed) and saved the game (giant earth map). I tried reloading that game an hour later and it crashed as soon as i clicked next turn. Most of the tiles were greyed out and the map in the corner was behaving strangely. It showed the entire map as revealed, except all the tiles were water except the polar ice caps. Then i tried reloading a previous saved game (which i had reloaded successfully earlier that day, from turn 238, same game, same map, etc) and that too started having problems! It seemed the problem was spreading somehow. Then yesterday i tried playing the large europe map, which i have been able to play entire games on normal civ 5, and it crashed with the same problems at turn 89. Has anyone else had any problems like this? Any ideas?
 
I'm sorry if this has been asked before but is there any way to increase the maximum amount of civs beyond 22 and the city states beyond 25?
 
I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but if I go in custom game, then select Yet (not) Another Earth Maps and click on Load Mod, the map pack doesn't show. :confused:

It is loading for me. Have you tried clearing your cache folder? Also, how did you d/l it? If you subscribed via the Steam Workshop, it occasionally does not take properly and I've learned to un-subscribe, quit the workshop, then re-subscribe, which usually makes it install correctly.

I'm running a game on the biggest earth map in v.15. I'm also using your city states v.6 mod, and the leaders v.4 mod. In addition I'm using a mod to allow for unlimited exp from barbarians. The problem I'm getting is that some city states' names appear on the main map as garbled text. For example, Dublin shows up on the map as TSETSERLEG. Edinburgh shows up as ASELLA. This is only on the main map, tooltips and menus correctly list the CS's names. Any idea why this is happening and/or how to remedy this? It's annoying to have to wait for a tooltip to get the correct name for some of these CS's.

Only thing this city-states have in commen is that all of them are normal citys with G&K, Celts and Sweden if i'm not wrong.

I have earth map v.15 city-states V.5 and infoaddict V.18

Except from that everything works, I hade problem with the freezing after 300 turns or so but after G&K and the newest MOD update I no longer have that problem.

Surely that, name already used, so the game use the last name of a random civilization city list. I'll have to add some adjustment to city name list depending of which version of the game and DLC are used...

My first impressions are the same, it seems that g&K engine is more robust on large maps, which is good news for this mod :D
 
On an i5 3570 @ 4ghz w/ 8GB and a GTX 670 I usually play with max CS's and 12-14 Civs. On the biggest earth map the late game wait between turns gets pretty long. I'm guessing around 45 seconds to a minute, but I'd really have to verify. I can't imagine how bad it would be w/ 22 civs and 41 CS's.

Max city state is 41. Use one of the CS mod for YnAEMP, or remove the TSL placement for CS in the game setup screen.

Does the CS mod work with G&K yet? And how do I know which city states will be placed in the game (regardless of whether the CS mod is selected or not)?
 
Is it possible if we could 'self-update' the CS mod? I went in the xml and tried changing a few traits from maritime/militaristic/cultural to religious/mercantile.

However when I played the game, I couldn't interact with the city states I changed.

So, how could I go about adding in the new traits?
 
Fantastic mod, must-have for all those sick and twisted little tyrant-wannabies. While i tracked the developments from civ5, was quite suprised to see that you implemented europe map. That's something i hoped to see, i found it little annoying to continue playing with, for instance germany, after i conquered europe and half asia. While panzers roaming around washington is a cute sight, german flag over kyoto does not keep me playing. So one question: are you hoping to implement some more region tsl maps, like east asia+pacific, africa, or americas?

the hell... your comp is way better than mine and my turn time is not that bad with max civs and cs's lategame. Are you just not a patient person?

my spec is GTX 580, i72600k, and 8gb memory

Lol agreed. I remade Nazi Germany and conquered the whole world. :p
