Looking at the map.... WOOOOOOWWWWWWW!
You guys have been absolutely fantastic while I've been away. Also... Look how BIIIIG this map is! We must have close to enough to win via domination just by settling our home continent! I know fully agree on the research past education, I think our whole continent is more advanced than the rest of the world.
Plenty of MM to do, nothing major, just knocking a few turns off or slightly altering our beakers.
I decide I'll only play 7 turns (get us to 1100AD) to get the turns right.
IBT - kill an immortal and longbow on defence but lose a cav (2-1)
Turn 1 - plenty of stuff finishes, rush a worker then settler in Persopolis to help bring the pop down. Cut science back to +34gpt, Astronomy still in 2.
Lose a cav killing a musket, 3 pikes and a LB and I capture Gordium (it has no culture). (7-2), kill 2 spears in capturing Dariush Kabir (9-2). Kill a sword and lose a cav (10-3). the city captures have elevated our income to +46gpt, up 12gpt on the start of the turn.
IBT - zzz
Turn 2 - kill plenty of badies for no loss (17-3), the only thing slowing us down is the lack of bodies. And boy, talk about and uphill battle when it comes to actually settling all the land
IBT - Lose an eLegion (17-4)
Turn 3 - Astronomy comes in, switch over to Banking. Rush Sistine's in Cumae. Kill a pike and immortal and capture Hamadan for no loss. (19-4)
Kill a pike, 2 LB's and a knight (23-4). Kill 2 pikes and an immortal and capture Arbella (26-4).
IBT - Berlin completes Copernicus' Observatory.
Turn 4 - Kill a pike and capture Kish (27-4). Kill 2 spears and an archer and capture Bombay (30-4).
IBT - lose a cav (30-5)
Turn 5 - Kill an immortal and 3 spears (34-5). Lose a legion but kill a pike (35-6)
IBT - India and Persia land troops next too each other beside an undefended city... cheeky monkeys!
Turn 6 - kill 3 LB's and 2 immortals (40-6), kill the invaders (42-6). Kill a musket and spear and capture Samaria along with 4 workers. Kill a sword and capture Hyderbad (43-6). Kill 2 spears and capture Dacca (45-6).
Pocket a bab settler pair (46-6). Kill 2 pikes and a LB and capture Ashur, take a look at F3 and we are UNDER our unit count! Wow. Better order up some more cavs
Kill a Persian LB with an eLegion and pop my first leader (47-6). Wow, we don't have anything worth rushing! Send him to the front to form a new Cavalry army.
IBT - zzz
Turn 7 - Banking comes in, set research to Physics in 5 (vetoable).
Kill 2 Pikes and capture Uruk, a musket and a pike and capture Antioch (51-6). Fat finger a move of a cav and he may die next turn, sorry.
And thats it, we're back to correct turn numbers. All builds are vetoable although I would suggest that we start filling in land now rather than later, keep building cavs, and capture, don't raze. I suspect that we can wipe out Persia, Babylon and India in the next turnset. Babylon may take a little longer but not much. I also think we should go straight for the IA looking for rails and Communism, on land like ours Communism could be either awesome or terrible I'm not sure... or we could get economics, I doubt we'd have much opposition in getting smiths. We should also rush a caravel I think and go looking for the other nations, get them to start spending their income on troop support and we might be able to slow down whatever research they are doing.
here's the save, good luck to the next player!
