I establish 3 new towns on the northern Coast but they are no where near the front. Nicomedia, Ceasera, Tarentum.
Seculica is close to where Calcutta was Razed on Turn 10

Things Move Forward a little Have a Stack Ready to take out Persian Iron Town. Should stop the flow of those pesky Knights.
Other then the Babs Sword shuffle I haven't seen much of them.
India sends in a lone Horse or Archer Occasionally But there is just not enough troops over there to start a stack for a deep plunge.

I'm back from the holidays too! I'll play after markh.

One thing to consider. We have the GLib, but it's not really working at the moment as the civs we know have been crippled by us. This is continents and we could try to find the other continent. They might be ahead of us in techs and we'd get full value of the Glib before it expires soon.

Not happy at my turns at all. Kill rate is horrible. But I think we were stretched too far and too thin when I got the game. We had stacks far away from our borders and those Persian knights really ate legions for breakfast. I tried to reinforce our stacks but those legions got killed too. So I decided to stay within borders and expand more carefully. I founded some cities and razed a couple.

I kept on building mostly legions. They have defence 3 against muskets 4, but are way cheaper. We get metallurgy soon and cannons. Then onto Military tradition and cavs.

We haven't got any techs from the Glib. I didn't research Chivalry, cause I was sure babs would buy it soon and we'd get it via Glib, but no.

I do not know what is wrong, but also during my turns the Persian knights killed legions fortified on mountains or jungle easily. This is ridiculous. I already considered researching chivalry during my turns, but thought it cannot take too long until we get chiv from the GLib. Pity we still did not get it. I think we should just hang on until we have cavs. It is not too far to pay them back.

OK I got it. Will play sometime this weekend.

And yes I found those pesky knights a major pain too. Popping up in a lot of places and They were also attack Legion Fortifed on mountians during my turns set. Of course they retreated alot but that didn't get rid of them.

Loose Galley in the ocean (not sure why we are looking for other civs anyways?)

My reasoning was that we have the GLib, but we aren't getting any techs from it. This is continents and the other continent might be running far in the tech tree and if we find them, we'd get their techs before the GLib expires. They can't get to us before astronomy.

If they are really far up the tree even past astro. (astro only allows sea travel not ocean they would be at navigation or Magnetism) when they do find us we would get the those techs past Education as well.
I think who ever even has TGL would have found us by now by sea if that were possible.

Of course this depends on Persian not getting to Education soon and they don't trade it away either. (of course they are up Chivalry,Theology and Gunpowder on the other two and haven't traded any yet) Babs just got Invention during my set and I think India is still in the AA.
But It time to go full steam at Persia with Chavalry. They won't last long as it is.

It is a gamble either way. But I think it is a better pay off waiting and not looking for them.
Of course when they do make contact it might be worth it for us to trade for all the contacts at that point.

looks good

IBT : one exposed legion is killed and we kill a Persian knight on defence

1) 830AD : some Persian knights fall to our cavs

IBT : lose more legions in jungles and fortified on mountains

IBT : not much

4) 860AD : raze Eridu
raze Karachi

IBT : nothing

5) 870AD : found Gordion

IBT : not much

6) 880AD : just moving units

IBT : not much

7) 890AD : found Agrippina

IBT : nothing

8) 900AD : not much

IBT : nothing

9) 910AD : found Cyrene
raze Jaipur

IBT : not much

10) 920AD : raze Susa

I rushed quite a lot of cavs, so the next one will have to organize them a bit. I razed Susa and hope with that the Persian horse supplies are gone, so no more knights.

I would continue to beat up the Persians to slow down research on our continent. Once we meet two civs of the other continent we will be catapulted into the next age by the GLib, so no research please. It would be bummer if we get edu by the Persians and a civ of the other continent.

Tupac should be back today. He probably has lot of SG's to play, but since this is his game and it's even his turn in the roster, he can have the next turn. And a lot has changed in this game since he left.

Yep, we should destroy the Persians first and then find the other continent to get max out of GLib. On the other hand, we have been able to rush wonders even now, so the other civs can't be that far ahead. With this much income and libs in the biggest cities, we could research theo and edu fast. Then we could build unis in the biggest cities before finding the other continent. We are doing pretty good research and with unis fast, the pace would just go up.

Yes, this came to my mind, too when I drove to work this morning. :)

We will need more settlers as with cavs now we will soon crush the AIs on our continent and have room to expand.

Just got home, I'm a bit out of wack so I'll let you play and then I'll take it next, I've been bangladesh, thailand, the philippines and then the gold coast for the last few weeks so I'll wait just a little longer
