Tupac06 - AWE Continents

I think if madviking does not post until tomorrow we should put him on autoskip until he replies in the thread, so we can keep this one going.

OK, I'll play today. I'm at work now, so it will be in about 10 hours.

Markh played the anarchy phase, so I'll get to do some building again. And with iron online, it's legions, legions and legions. I think I'll switch research to lit. In case we get a leader soon, we can rush the GLib. GA is coming soon and I'll still try to fit a town or two between Delhi and Rome. So a lot to do in ten turns.

Pre-flight check: Research to lit. Change Delhi to worker, as the leader will be there next turn.

Turn 1 (130BC): Delhi: worker->FP, rush with leader. Iron online!! Kill two Indian archers near Delhi, lose an archer to redlined archer. Upgrade a warrior to Legion. (2-1)

Turn 2 (110BC): Rome: settler->legion, Delhi: FP->rax, Cumae: horse->settler. Kill a bab bow, sword and Persian spear. One kill with Legion->GA!! MM cities for GA. (5-1)

Turn 3 (90BC): Veii: legion->legion, Antium: legion->worker, Pisae: rax->legion, Ravenna: rax->legion,

IBT: Immortal kills our legion in jungle. (5-2)

Turn 4 (70BC): Neapolis: settler->rax, Pompeii: legion->settler. Kill persian imm and archer. (7-2)

IBT: lose fortified spear and archer in jungle to immortals (7-4)

Turn 5 (50BC): Rome: legion->legion, Delhi: rax->spear, Antium: worker->legion, Cumae: settler->legion. Elite horse dies to redlined bow. Legion kills it. (8-5)

Turn 6 (30BC): Veii: legion->legion, Lugdunum: spear->rax, Viroconium: cat->worker. Kill bab spear and immortal. (10-5)

IBT: lot of immortals start to show.

Turn 7 (10BC): Rome: legion->worker, Pompeii: settler->legion, Pisae: legion->worker, Ravenna: legion->worker. Kill two immortals. Lower science, CoL next turn. (12-5)

IBT: kill two immortals defending. (14-5)

Turn 8 (10AD): CoL->Currency. Rome: worker->lib, Delhi: spear->worker, Veii: legion->legion, Cumae: legion->legion, Lutetia: cat->rax. Found Byzantium->rax. Kill Indian warrior and archer. (16-5)

IBT: immortal kills our fortified legion behind walls. (16-6)

Turn 9 (30AD): Antium riots because legion was killed. Delhi: worker->lib, Neapolis: rax->legion, Pisae: worker->legion, Ravenna: worker->spear, Virconium: worker->rax. Kill two immortals. Found Brundisium->walls. Kill Indian archer. (19-6)

IBT: Kill immortal defending. (20-6)

Turn 10 (50AD): Antium: legion->walls, Pompeii: legion->worker. Kill bab sword, persian spear (22-6)

These were my ten. RNG could have been a bit better, but immortals are tough. Got the GA. Didn't build a lot of infra, because I needed the legions. And built workers and settlers too. I'll put a picture to next post with more suggestions.

There is a stack north of Sardis ready to destroy it. And a settler waiting in Byz to found on the red dot. And a legion/settler pair on mountain to found 3 NE of Delhi.

Things look good and it's also pretty quiet in the southern front. Babs built a city there so that might slow the Persians.

SLow Progress Only sacking one town.
We are little Thin right now on troops in the west.
On our eastern choke We could make a move soon on babs
I suggested a spot for the settler in the NE. Change as need be.
I MM all the Markets except one to finish as our GA expires.

lurker's comment: Brundisium looks like it could take on a stack of Immortals, being on a hill and with walls.

also, thank you for the pictures. :)

I'm in turn 3 and generated an MGL. Do we want an army or the great library ? I would go with the library.

Great Library is great, but how many techs would we actually get?? We are doing fine with research and GLib expires at education. The culture from Glib could push some borders though.

Army would be good for Heroic Epic. We are militaristic and in AW, we'd be getting a lot of leaders.

Sun Tzu is a great wonder in AW. If we are close to feud, I'd probably rush Sun.

BTW, hopefully you can finish your turns soon. I'm leaving on Friday for Christmas and New Years and I can't play before 2007. So today or tomorrow are my last chances to play my turns.

For the next player :

Do not move the elite legions fortified in the mountains between Brundisium and Lutetia, otherwise the immortals will go there and it will be much more difficult to kill them in the mountains.

Sounds good!
Sorry About Caseragusta I was shadowing the galley with a horse and a legion. you must have moved them to the front.
Anyways, I didn't like Casearagusta location. I settled then saw the coast.
It was still unexplored at that time. Now we have the option to move it to the coast.

Pre-flight check: Some minor MM. We have big Legion stack in southern front. Press enter.

Turn 7 (420AD): Antium: worker->legion, Pisae: lib->legion, Ravenna: worker->legion. Kill Indian spear. (22-7)

Sorry, I don't have time to play more. Have to pack for tomorrow. We are doing well, but not really advancing. I only built one city and razed one. Had bad RNG for one turn. There is a small stack with a settler heading towards Calcutta. Raze and replace. Though not on the same spot. I'd prefer destroying the weak Indians first. Our FP is in Delhi and we haven't got a decent core around it. We got road to Jerusalem so cats are there ready to attack persian towns with our legion stacks.
