What Can I say?

We need to:
1) Find out a counter-offer to CGN's deal. Offer them how much we value the tech, even if the price is way low. May I suggest first offering how much extra gold we will get by not researching for the next 7 turns (Thats how long the tech will take) and offer that.
2) Formulate an official welcome message to CGN
3) Determine what to do with the settler + Galley that will set sail next turn. Shall we take the Icy Island down south to stop GCA from making an island blockade, or the Lush, green one, with iron and bonus grasslands aplenty?
4) Figure out how to finish off GCA.

I agree. We should prevent the GCers from getting to that Island ASAP.
 
Why not just drop a spearman onto the smaller island and then drop the settler off on the big island? Kill two birds with one stone, so to speak.
 
They may have enough units to take out the spearman, although I doubt it. This process should unfold over the next five turns and then we can get back to business as usual. In the meantime, I believe we should dedicate the 4 troops to the small island while settling on the large island on in Spot A on the map I made earlier.
 
Hm. So we should direct some of our units from the front back, for then to send them to the islands?

Or should we produce new ones?

I can agree to a city on the green island, but the smaller one is much less usefull for a city.
 
I basically agree with FortyJ and Cheetah here. The small island is only useful for strtegic purposes. Let's go full bore to settle the large island while using minimal effort to secure the little piece of rock.

As do I. Reports from Apolyton indicate that there is a GCA galley in the lake, so for them to put anything on either of the islands, they would need more than 1 galley. Plus, since the galley can only carry 2 units, for them to land enough of a force to have a decent chance to remove our fortified spearman, they would either need to land a swordsman/med infantry (which I consider unlikely) or a couple of archers/horsemen (which would require a full galley - no room for settlers - or at least 2 galleys). Essentially, they would need to have a sizable fleet (or a sizable amount of luck) to dislodge a speaman on that island. I doubt they have the resources for that.
 
So a city on the big island. But I feel we should get some more cities on the main continent before we colonize those islands!

Could someone (preferable the domestic department?) make a poll with suggestions for city placements? We need to discuss and poll where our settlers are going. And they are coming fast now.

Btw: a suggestion for names for those islands:
The big green one: Greenland
The small, cold one: Iceland :D
What do you think?

In order to do ANY thing I need at least one save of the game. I'm glad you're all playing and considering what to do but I need to see more than a couple of pictures per turn.

I hope someone's noticed that BoP's dropped two pop points. They've built a settler, and my guess is that he's on that galley in the lake.
