Turn chat.

As I wasn't home yesterday evening, and I didn't come home until early this morning (or right now...), I couldn't post this any earlier.

If we are allowed to play (even though I posted late), I would like us to play tonight at the regular time.

Which would mean, today the 14th at 24:00 GMT.

I for one feel we must follow the rules even the bad ones. I think it is now apparent that the 24 hour notice rule change has resulted in a bad change. Unfortunately every time something comes up we rush to change the rules. If we live with the changes we make then perhaps we will be a bit more careful in the changes we make.

A suggestion: Shaitan's poll (there is a link in his earlier post) shows that a regular schedule is favored. Grey Fox why don't you write up a cabinet vote on the schedule and include an emergency amendment for playing tonight? I know it is short notice but if you can get five cabinet votes out of the eight possible wouldn't the measure carry?

No, currently we need all Cabinet Members to respond or 48 hours to lapse. (This is one of the items changed in the Constitutional Amendment Proposal).

I agree, and we can't play tonight because of the 24h rule.

So We'll play tomorrow, the 15th at 24:00 GMT.

Should we have a Cabinet Vote on the 24h rule matter? If so, could you make it Shaitan?

Then I don't see how we can have a constitutionally valid turn chat tonight.

Anyone else see a way through this? (Short of ignoring the constitution because it is inconvenient.)

I'm so so Sorry, but for the 4th TurnChat in a row, I won't be able to attend it (I did attend the last one, but because of some technical reasons I got disconnected and couldn't connect again).

The reason for tonight is because I will be working on our movie. Our final project for my class in 'Video Techonology'

I don't think I have time to be the President any longer, the final Projects of all my classes must be completed soon, and I don't have the time.

GreyFox, are you thinking of resigning?

Actually, Yes. I was going to write an official statement, but I havn't had the time.

I suggest the Vice President takes over for me Immediatelly.

Sad to hear it Gray Fox, however I understand. Finals in college and regularly staying up past midnight your time can be near impossible.

We shall miss your leadership.

But, you'll still give your voice as a citizen... right?

just dont forget to update the registry-post of yours.
hope we have you back sometime in the future after you finished your work.
thanks for your great work as president!

since we do not have a president and obviously the vice-president is not able to access internet over the weekend and the constitution requires us to post the chat-schedule on sundays and no schedule was yet posted, with the authorization of GreyFox i will now post a emergency schedule, because otherwise we would have no turn chat at all the next week!

The turn chat schedule for week 21 is:
23:59 GMT on wednesday and sunday

If the VicePres or the next President will change this schedule till tonight, 23:59 GMT, then their schedule will be effective for next week (week 21).
If not, their schedule will be effective the week after (week 22). If they dont post a schedule, this schedule will continue to be effective!

The absence of a president or vice-president does not effect the chat, as the chain of command takes over the game.

Since the turn chat tonight was not scheduled in time (24h advance):
The next turn chat will be on wednesday, may 22nd at 23:59 GMT!

Thank you Dis. Sorry to see you go, Grey Fox.

This is sad news indeed. I wish Grey Fox the best of luck on his final projects. I am not sure I am the best choice for president right now, as, like disorganizer said, I do not have internet access from home. During the week, I can post from work, but I cannot actually play the game from there. I am not sure what to do about this. It could be some time before we get my computer fixed (it seems my friend cooked my modem when he installed the new motherboard, or at least that is our best guess), probably about 2 weeks, barring a miracle, when my new roommate moves in with his DSL line. I would suggest we either hold an emergency election, or move one department down the COC to choose the new president. I would love to take over the president position, but it is just not possible right now.

The turn chat schedule for the coming week is:

Wednesday, June 5, 2002 at 23:59 GMT (6:59 pm eastern US time).

Sunday, June 9, 2002 at 23:59 GMT (6:59 pm eastern US time).

Chieftess and I agreed that the schedule used for the last two weeks has worked well so we see no point in changing it.

I will not be able to play on Wednesday so the VP will play if she is available.:)

Since I neglected to post a turn chat schedule yesterday we must use the one from last week. Therefore the turn chats will be held on Wednesday (June 12) and Sunday (June 16). The time will be the same: 1159 pm Greenwich time which is 6:59 pm east coast US time.

Turn chat 1315 AD (June 12)

The turn chat schedule for the coming week is:

Tuesday, June 18, 2002 at 7:59 pm eastern US time which is Wednesday, June 19, 2002 at 12:59 am Greenwich time.

Thursday, June 20, 2002 at 7:59 pm eastern US time which is Friday, June 21, 2002 at 12:59 am Greenwich time.

Sunday, June 22, 2002 at 2:59 pm eastern US time which is Sunday, June 23, 2002 at 7:59 pm Greenwich time.

EDIT: Sunday is June 23 not June 22. Sorry.

Tonight's chat will most likely end after 4 turns when we discover scientific method. The next chat (Tuesday) may well end when we get universal suffrage in 3 or 4 turns. Hopefully the Thursday and Sunday chats will be 10 turns.

I don't really like 48 hour turnaround, no matter how many turns we play. If I miss getting out a proposal right away, there will be absolutely no time to get one out for the next round, much less if controversy comes of it. I don't mind being MIA for only 4 or 5 turns (not a big deal) but I wouldn't want it being regular practice.

Thusday to Sunday is three days. We may have to get used to only playing a few turns. If we get drawn into the war things may slow down even more. :(

On the bright side, with only four turns last night and four on Tuesday, not many agreements will have expired. The main thing we need from FA now is guidance on our relations with the belligerants.
