Turn Discussion Thread

At the very least, move 1NE first, to reveal a bit about what the coast does. This might immediately tell you that moving 1E is a waste of time.

In general, prefer diagonals. Since there's a possibility that the land continues north, then any move that doesn't include a north component is at risk of wasting half a turn. Similarly, any move that isn't east risks wasting half a turn if the land turns around east. The one thing we do know though is that heading south or west is going back the way we came. So northeast is clearly the best direction.

EDIT - nevermind, crossposted with LP's actual move so all this is partly irrelevant now.

I didn't even know we could go 2NE and I wasn't going to move which is why I posted about it.

Anyways it seems we got some desert that goes north.

And a range of mountain peaks that looks a little... super-natural.

Hey, looks like we have a powerful commerce site, either 2S or 1SE of the clams. Can't wait to get those warriors exploring about.

Baseless speculation: Perhaps water routes are cut off so we have to make contact via the mainland? (Remember all that ice sealing off the Great Lighthouse?)

Agreed.

And no signs of barb cities yet. When do those start showing up?

I've had mountain ranges like that in my RNG games. The Clam/Flood plain does look like a good spot, I placed a marker "F" there for reference. We'll know more once we get those warriors over there. I can't wait. :)

Why do you say that? We've only moved 2 tiles out of our territory, and the path is all clear. What's the problem? :p

Yeah I agree with LP how was south a better option? We'll go south with our 2nd boat.

It looks like there's going to be a long strip of coast vertical to prevent us moving eastwards, whilst it appears that what we can see of the south is the tip of the island .

And the next tile north could be the end of that strip and we can go east. There could be a hidden connection just under that fog. Seems equal to me.

Could be but you don't have any evidence to back that claim up.

Neither do you Azzaman, which has been my point, there is ALWAYS something to explore right now and frankly were going to go both north and south what does it really matter which way we do first?

I agree let's hit the damn auto explore.

We can see with certainty that there is coastline south of the forest on the east island.

We can also see with certainty that there are at least 3 land tiles 1E1N, 1E2N and 1E3N

We're still talking about the WB? I wish the other teams would stop taking their full 48 hours, we've got moves planned 20 turns in advance, what are they still stuck on?

+1

What could possibly have happened that couldn't have planned?

Someone may have a second city now, Maybe someone didn't fogbust right and is dealing with Barbs and not just animals. I suppose it's also possbile one of the civs met another...

I also agree with Grant we shouldn't get so worked up over the WB moves. Next turn we get to see if we have Horses! :) So here's to hoping we see them.

We should probably renew the discussion of our longer term goal. Writing will be done by turn 38. If we are going to pursue Monarchy we'll probably want to delay the revolt to Slavery. If not, when the settler is in transit (turn 36) is the best point at which to revolt in the short term.

Having said that, none of the plans we've made call for whipping unless we are pursuing The Oracle, so it's possible we could delay the revolt to slavery while we decide what to do.
