Turn Discussion Thread

I think I will have Husch chop the forestted Silk river tile.

Why didn't you do it? I (HUSch) build a road (needed in long time) instead.
Why do LP build a road at that hill-mine, he should better go to the hill tile (SE Vega) and build there a road to help connect the quarry. Then (after both tiles raoded) LP and Hell could both working at the hill-mine there, Vega will be powerhouse with pop 6 and 13 :food:

Proposal for the next turns
In 500
Whip the forge in Canopus is best, I think.
In Arcturus change to grow (like the plan ).
In Vega change to 2 mines, quarry and then (475) whip the granary with 15 :food:, work this turn mine, quarry (14 food), in 450 and in 425 work pig and clam to grow with maximum effect.
In AC change village to mine, we grow this turn.

Sorry I meant Toch is chopping and Husch is building the road to connect the mine.
Arcturus IS growing, 3 turns to pop in fact.

I meant to comment on this earlier today, but I got the "server is busy message" which ate my post:

Nice job on capturing Carib, AlphaShard! That was much more efficient than the way I would have done it, but then the combat odds were probably crazily in our favor. Am I correct in that you attacked from the galley? Across a river? With one hand tied behind your back? The extra 3 pop is a nice boost to our score. I'm not sure if a worker or a work boat is better here. Regardless, we have a few turns of revolt to sort it out.

I will try to update the test save by the weekend.

Yeah I checked the odds before attacking and it was 99.9% you DON'T get better odds then that. So now we have Rigel added to our city count. :)

New Turn is up guys, Caveman is ready to work on Sol and Alphashard in Bode, Hebe is fully healed now.

Oh and the Mavericks are thinking of Rage quitting. Please check the Maverick Diplo threads.

I can't decide if this is a good thing or something too good to be true, Would we be crippled taking that many cities?

I had a look at the game. So according to HUSch's micro, this turn we should:

1. Whip the forge in Canopus.
2. Switch Arcturus to work clams, pigs, copper until we grow to pop 4. (I did this already) We will reach pop 4 next turn. Do we wait until the food bar is almost full?

I think Lord Parkin should move to the hill 1E of the stone and start a road. hell hound should road the stone itself. I'm not sure about Sol, but I think the worker on the silk (Toch?) should start a plantation.

Also, it is looking extremely doubtful that anyone is going to get a circumnavigation bonus. The ice goes extremely far south.

Finally, we really need to come up with a plan a do more micro. I've been doing some other stuff (mostly planning for SGOTM12), but I will start by updating the save this weekend.

Toch can't be given commands yet, it's Caveman that's open and he's sitting on a river road cottage. He can either make another mine for Sirius or another cottage. There is a forested plains hill we could mine or chop if we want to hurry up settler/workers there.

We could also build a temple for happy cap or Monestary for +14 beakers. (10% of 147)

Alpha can go to build the road at hill at Vega, help connect the quarry.
Cave can go and chop a forest (best at hill) or help at the silk.

My proposal (above) about whip in Canopus was a mistake, so it's better to grow in Can this turn, you can change in Canopus mine against the fp-village when AC work mine, then both can grow and the missionary is ready. In Canopus give an additional hillforest +3 :hammers: to 12 netto with OR 15.

We could also build a temple for happy cap or Monestary for +14 beakers. (10% of 147)

I don't have the save open to check, but remember that the monestary gives us +10% science over the commerce in Sirius, not the beaker level. So the gain is really going from +175% science (academy + library) to +185% science I'm guessing +7 or +8 is more likely.

I 've looked at Irgys pic and made some additional infos. There is a gap in my understanding of our situation, the diplomacy etc, so I wonder that we give all our EsP to our ally Quadronia, why? Also I don't understand why Quadronia declares war at Merlot, why, what can they gain? Especially, if they must send their troops over CDZ land.

Imo We 've a ally so left allies fight against Maverick, the right side against merlot. We decided no war but research, so Maverick is for Quadronia, but why does CDZ wait?

btw
play all now C5 or is the long answer-time the reason for no posts?

edit
Pindicator you are right. For happy cap is a unit better.

Well I wanted to put Esp on Mavericks but the argument was that we would be warring with Mavericks soon enough and that we would need the espionage on Quatronia. We are still planing on fighting Mavericks, we've chosen to focus on expansion rather then war atm.

I am not playing Civ V and probably won't until Christmas time, if then.

Quatronia declared war on Merlot primarily in order to sink their exploring workboat, in an attempt to prevent Mavericks and Merlot making contact.

Our EPs are on Quatronia because they're the team we get the most out of know what they're up to. We hopefully don't care what Mavericks are up to because the ETTT is supposed to take care of ensuring we have enough of a lead over them to eliminate them, and once we eliminate them our EPs are all wasted. After that Quatronia is our most likely rival. In the longer term we might want them on Amazon, but from what I recall we made an agreement with them to send our EPs elsewhere.

Why CDZ aren't warring with Merlot isn't entirely clear, but my guess is basically that they're happy for Amazon to cop the brunt of the Merlot military, while CDZ will happily sit back and wait until Astronomy, when they will be able to make some real gains. It's kind of the same reason we're not at war with Mavericks, even though they're quite obviously going to be our target.

Thx Irgy, that is a good explanation, especially about the action of Quadronia.

Remark to the last turn: The boat is not going strait to Sirius to take the missio to Arcturus.

Well we are building two missionaries and Enterprise has to go back to Sirius to pick them up once they are done. I had first dropped off the Macemen to spawn bust where we want our next city for the Horse.

Also are you still logged in?

The missio from AC is for Vega? He should be ready in time enterprise go east enough to cross the ocean.

btw
I was long logged because I want to know about pops etc. It's funny, Amazon has declared war and knows nothing (no city) about Merlot.

btw I think the map give no Magellan-bonus, so it would better the cara explore mavericks coast.

Well we are building two Missionaries so we can send one to Rigel and one to Arcturus or Vega.

I think it was Irgy that suspected that's what the ice was going to do. So we can get a consensus if we want to explore Mavericks' island.

Actually Amazon didn't declare war, Merlot did by attacking and killing their Scout. Amazon has decided to continue the war, and we do see "The Circus" a Merlot city.

Turn 95 - 500 BC

Caveman on Sol moved to forested plains hill 1s of Sirius to chop.

We can't chop that hill since we'll lose the health bonus from forests in Sirius. It's much better to mine the green hill 2W of Sirius that it shares with AC.

I'm also in favor of exploring the Mavericks home island.

Edit: I logged in and canceled the chop in Sirius. In my opinion, our priorities for developing Sirius should be to mine the hill shared with AC, cottage the 2 remaining grassland tiles, then mine the last green hill. Once the current missionary is done, Sirius should build a settler for Bode or a maceman for the happy cap.

Also, when I logged in Amazon wanted to trade maps again. Since circumnavigation seems highly unlikely, I agreed. Note that they have already settled another city on Anjennida. It looks like it was in one of Irgy's dot map positions, but I'd need to double check.

Finally, we will finish Astronomy in 13 turns, we need to start hooking up the silk resources for trades. We will get quick, easy happy and health bonuses that way.

Edit2: Here is the location of the Amazon city. So much for discussing this with us. It is 1N of the proposed site for the Southern most Amazon city in Irgy's dotmap.
Spoiler :

Until Submarines, at least. If you're right, of course.

RE: Amazon

Though they haven't discussed it at least they traded maps to show us their settlement. We can still settle that elephant if we really wanted it. Given how they are berating Qautrona for not communicating with CDZ... Kind of ironic don't ya think?
