Turn Discussion

I like the tech tree graphic ;) But its still a bit too soon to divide techs up between the teams.

First we need to find out if a.) CDZ is teching Iron Working and b.) if they will join the ETTT.

Our tech partners won't mind if we store up gold right now until we know exactly what to research.

Agreed, I'm just working from what we already know in current conversations.

a) Wasn't Earthling working up another email?
b) Bit difficult to say however if it was CDZ coming to us with the offer for a 4-way ETTT would we decide to accept it or decline and run a 3v3?

I think we should be being more proactive in regards to who is researching what. We should be thinking about what techs Quatronia want to do for ourselves. eg Drama, as you don't trade the GA 4 ways. Compromises will have to be made in order to get what we want and we should be prepared to negotiate this now.

Good job on declining the Mavericks trade proposal, looks like there were trying to pull as fast one on you as the turn player.

The proposal was lop sided. 2 techs for Mono maybe. 3 is just being greedy. However I do believe that they are trying to sus us out more than capitalise on a tech trade. If we really wanted to block the trade we would just get Mono from Amazons this turn. Which is what I assume they think we will do.

After we finish the galley I really think we should build a worker before a settler. This will let us improve one more tile for Continuum before going down to Singularity a little bit before the settler.

Our 3rd city should be in the SE corner of the island, which is Singularity right?

We should go with a worker next. And clear the build queue while you are at it.

I would rather drop off the warrior in the forest south of Resonance. This gets the warrior on the ground one turn faster and gets the galley back quicker.

And I would really like the 2nd warrior over on the continent as well. Can we leave Continuum ungarrisioned at pop 7 and still be happy? We have a +2 happiness surplus right now.

Finally, I would caution against loading up multiple-turn moves for units. It's much safer to take it one turn at at time. Especially when turn players rotate.

The plan here was to show the intention of the unit in the screenshot for all the team to see unambiguously. Much easier to demonstrate with pics than describe. My reasoning for dropping the warrior off in the south is so once he reaches the X he can just move north. No redundant faffing about. Dropping him of in Resonance will get him on the ground faster I grant you, but his search pattern will be slower if we do so.

Further to that, I do intend to move the second warrior, however I was intending to move him to the peninsular between us and Mavs, unless there is a better reason to explore elsewhere? Moving the galley south also had the bonus of be able to see if the Merlot WB has rounded the point, which they must do within the next 4 turns to make it past our cultural borders.

On a side note, are we all saying that Singularity is the next city to found? We don't need to poll this?

Yes, we've settled on Singularity. I would prefer the settler first, but if you guys feel a worker is best then go ahead. I also agree with 2 exploring warriors as long as Continuum remains happy. I suggest we discuss our exploration here.

I'm glad that I normally log in about halfway thru the turn.
CDZ have galleys and have been exploring the central pillar for some time (At least 4-5 turns)

I think we should settle Resonance right away, as they are heavily sniffing on that site. I think we may be in for a race. Better safe than sorry, as we were with Stonehenge and Buddhism.

Just a quick q, as a part of the ETTT should I be initiating tech trades without diplomatic messages. Particularly with Sirius as they have just finished Math as we have finished Archery.

I would say go ahead and initiate those trades as they are covered under the ETTT, and we are going after calendar if I'm correct. I was always in support of Resonance, and remain that way. If enough people (I'd say 3) changed their minds about the third city, then we should change it.

I was just thinking... if CDZ fail to join the ETTT should we amphibiously attack their scout?

Can't do it this turn as I've already moved the Galley, Soz :(

Hmmmm, it's a nice idea. That assumes they don't affirm the treaty this turn. Did we send the polite message to them yesterday? They now have around 48hrs to respond. That is if we don't all end turn first.

They got the polite message yesterday and the last warning message just a little while ago. They have til the end of the turn to let us know if they are in or not.

Thing is, if they turn us down we will invite Mavericks and I think they are sure to join. So preventing contact with the Mavs wouldn't be that important.

Of course if Mavs decline also then we need to kill every explorer we see to prevent a 3 vs 3 thing happening.

Eh I'd be wary of attacking CDZ at this point. Even if they decline the ETTT I don't want to take a chance of ending the possibility of a Merlot-CDZ conflict simply because we killed a scout.

Galdarian, can you offer CDZ a deal for IW? I think we are obliged to give them everything we have for anything they have, under the treaty.
