Tusk1 - Ladies First

I am ok with any of them. Of course 1 and 2 look best from where we stand now.

I've played 20 turns; I'm not enthused about this start:

4000 BC - move Settler and Worker to the obvious locations
3950 BC - Kyoto founded, building Warrior. Worker starts watering the cow.
3900...
3850...
3800...
3750 BC - watering finishes. Worker starts roading.
3700 BC - Warrior finishes => Warrior
3650 BC - Kyoto grows. Warrior = MP
3600...
3550 BC - Second Warrior finishes. Worker starts roading BG
3500...
3450 BC - culture expansion
3400 BC - Worker starts mining BG
3350 BC - France and Egypt come out of the fog on the IBT.
France is our Crush
Egypt is our Girlfriend
3300 BC - Warrior > Worker
3250...
3200 BC - Worker > Settler
3150...
3100 BC - Mine completes.

Power on, or try for another start?

Egypt looks to be in the lead for the tech race. It's a shame that France was first because we each have two techs the other does not have. Both civilizations still only have one city so we're not too far behind. We have access to 2 lux resources. Silk directly in the capitol borders and furs directly south of us.

Overall it's a fair start.

I'm up for either playing this one or starting a new one. Whatever the group wants to do.

Got it. Just been busy.

Sorry, guys, I'm going to need a skip. I won't be able to get to this until Thursday, and that is too long this early in the game.

My time did not work out as I expected.

Well we found ou eternal Love. Its:
Spoiler :
CA_ANG.jpg

I love inconsistent block site lists. I can see the forum from work, but not the pictures. :crazyeye::crazyeye::crazyeye:

It looks like I am up. Not sure when I need to start worrying about the rules...

I'll see if I can play tonight.

2550 BC (0)
(IT) Osaka starts a warrior.

2510 BC (1)
(IT) Kyoto starts another settler.

2430 BC (3)
(IT) Osaka stars a worker

2230 BC (8)
Tokyo is formed to claim furs.

2110 BC (10)
Edo is formed.

Summary:
The French homeland has been found.
We have no new contacts.
Trading stuck until we get writing.
Warrior is walking to Toyko. We want to get a road there to get furs on-line.
Osaka is building a temple as we want culture toward those gems, though we may need to make a colony short-term.

Nice work, boys!

I'd say skip the culture build in Osaka -- it would take too long to get the Gems hooked up that way. We're better off with a city to take control of the isthmus and the gems with it.

Roster check:

LKendter - just played
Quintillus - up!

Agree with elephantium on the culture.

@Elephantium Can you update the opening post with the correct nations?

Also whats the rules depending the pretty boy now? and have we switched wife and exwife?

And another question:

Would it e acceptable to have a small fight with our GF (Egypt) in order to get access to Our Love (Russia) as long as we dont destroy them completely? Or do we need to get to rusiia by other means (RoP, Shipping?)

IIRC Egypt built a blocking city. We can ONLY get to Russia via ocean without razing that city.

That makes for an interesting game. If Russia doesn't enlist the help of others then with a well prepared and planned invasion Catherine will be toast. She can't send units by land and the AI is absolutely terrible at attacking by sea.

Done and done. The Pretty Boy rule is that we have to compete with Alexander -- we can prosecute small-scale tactical wars with him, but we can't wipe him out until it's down to him, our Wife, and us.

And another question:

2. Egypt - The second becomes our "girlfriend." We trade every tech as one for one deals as long as a trade is available until every civ is met.
3. Russia The third becomes our "lover." Must be the first civ attacked and conquered. Doesn't make any sense? Neither does love.

I'd say it's okay to attack and take that one city, but
1. We have to declare on Russia first, and
2. We should gift the city back to Egypt after Russia is gone.

Team, what do you think?

My instinct tells me to wage war by the sea and not attack Egypt, but you can't sufficiently do that with just galleys. And waiting until nearly the end of the next age to attack doesn't sound like the wisest move....

Then again taking the city makes it easier for us to attack Russia and we can hold the choke point relatively easy...but...Egypt may not want to listen to us when we want to end the war.
