I bought a great little gem of a game. Line Wars. From an indie guy or 2. It had about 2 dozen actual videos of about 30 seconds to 2 minutes explaining each and every mechanic and rule. It was one of the best tutorials in a game I had ever seen (for under $10 yet).

Now, Civ7, with an incomplete tutorial, and text base boredom to boot. Did they make this with "Word" and shove it into the game at the last minute? Maybe the Line Wars guys should be hired to make some C7 tutorial videos for the AAA game Devs. . . :undecide:

I definitely agree they should add more info.

The tutorial "is ok" for people that don't want the details of everything, but for a strategic game I want the details for everything.

The more obvious things with no explanation are:

1) How merchants works. Literally thought they were bugged, coming from Civ VI I would have never expected you had to send them manually to the other cities (a little explanation at least in the civilopedia would have helped....)
2) No explanation on the fact that you can teleport the units to the generals, when you can do it and how to do it
2) No clear explanations on many and many details (how much do military units heals per turn, which buildings are scientific, military etc... and so on)

I guess all these problems could be included in the more vast "UI is not great" topic of the moment

Merchant signposting in particular is very lacking. Trade is as important as it was in previous games, and given the mechanical changes, it should be made a lot clearer what you do with them.

It's a pretty annoying omission as I agree otherwise the contextual tutorials are pretty good!

(separate to UI issues in general)
