TXT_KEY issues and Civics screen problems

Hey Guys,

I`m a little clueless with computer problems, but I have searched several forums already and I`m finding very little on my problems. Basically I keep seeing TXT_KEY.... everywhere within my game since I have updated to BTS. I have found this on a few threads and the problem seems to be related to machines bought in Asia. I have uninstalled and reinstalled using English. I have all the patches. Does anyone know of a new fix.

Since updating I also have noticed a problems with the civics screen (and pop ups like world emergency screens) where i cannot click on anything, even the exit button. I have to press escape to get out. When I scroll over the civics no information comes up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I guess I should add that I find the TXT_KEY issue a minor inconvenience, but the civics screen makes the game unplayable, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

There have been reports of this with asian or cyrillic OSs. From memory it was setting the non-unicode language to english that sometimes helped.

Otherwise what OS are you using? If Vista or W7 did you run the setup by right-clciking and selecting run as administrator?

How does one set the non-unicode language to English?

My Korean desktop has this problem as well, and it's deeply upsetting to see AI cities named TXT_KEY_CITY_NAME_LISBON for example. T_T

In Vista it is in the "Regional and Language Options" found in the Control Panel. Then look in the Administrative tab.

Hm, looks like I need the installation disc for it to take effect....No fixes now....unless it's that I clicked the wrong option, but I can't tell. Not fluent in Korean, and my father is in Singapore.
