Did something change recently about the cost of shiping cars over to the U.S.? or about getting cars not made over there registered? : Over the course of my week long and arduous job search I've noticed alot of E.U. license plates (9 in all) and I've never seen and before. It's not like I live an a area with alot of rich europeans either (In Northtown near naked city) ...... anyone know if anything has changed? there are alot of european electric cars I would really like to get my hands on :goodjob: .

Its probaly military people who bring them back. They get an exemption. Most E-spec cars don't meet safty standards and as such don't get imported.

;) Nellis airforce base is fairly close
*Only 25 post to go!

I've done work inside Nellis. These could also be visiting euros who brought thier car with them. Nellis gets alot of pilots from other nations who train there.

American cars are safer than European cars? I -knew- that "European engineering" stuff was just a bunch of hot air.

Most euro cars won't pass standard crash testing nor will many Asian cars. They also have less stringent emmisions control standards in Europe and Asia.

So, not only are American cars safer, we're also more environmentally friendly.

Not realy American cars per say. Fords sold in Europe wouldn't cut it here either. Its more of a "cars sold in America" thing. But on a whole since the majority of US brand cars are sold in the US you can say that US cars are safer and cleaner. Now if we gould just get better miles per gallon.............
