UI - Improved City View (Vox Populi with EUI)

Automated citizen assignment (in VP) always makes sure the citizens are well fed, but it seems to ignore external food sources like Maritime CS and percentage modifiers.

VP will have automated city production with the upcoming patch, I updated Improved City View for compatibility. Also added support for GP points from monopoly and yield per pop from empire.
I haven't had a chance to test this properly, so if this doesn't work, use Auto-production cities or AI governor module of Bare Necessities with the latest ICV (from Gazebo or TadhgEomonn, links are in the previous page) instead.

Requires VP 2.1.1 or later

* btw this also includes my Condensed Production Query Help Texts modmod, I was working on my local file and didn't realized it was included, no sneaky self-promotion here. To be honest I think condensed texts fit well with ICV and I don't have the time to go back and do it again. If you aren't happy with it, just uncheck "No Basic Tooltip Help" in the options menu. If it's good, I'd like to keep it in ICV, means less work for me.

Is this texture error because it's still a feature being tested?

I have not been able to pin down if it's v2.1 of vp or this that is suppressing the text at the specialists regarding how many "free" specialists I have. Now it just says "manual specialist control" no matter what or whenever. It's kind of interesting to note how many "free" specialists you can put out (or in) without causing unhappiness. Such as when you build the library you get 1 free specialist etc but it is not noted that you do get that.

ICV could be the culprit. When comparing luas I saw some lines about free specialists were missing from ICV. I hesitated to add those since ICV handles specialists differently and thought it accounts for free specialists some other way, well apparently it doesn't. I'll see if it can be fixed

That would be most excellent. It was in the previous version, the one that Gazebo fixed. I think that is the one that most people use still so they are probably used to that reminder being there. I know I was since I forgot to assign some specialists when the libraries was built. Otherwise it seems to be working fine, except that error message that Arie pointed out a few posts up. I was wondering what that was to but figured it had something to do with that red square at the bottom left.

Using ICV(v12) with the latest VP(2.2). I have observed the following two small bugs when the specialist's section/box displays on the right-hand side.

(1) In the specialist box title shows --TXT_KEY_CITYVIEW_SPECIALISTS
(2) Within the specialist box, moving the mouse over the symbol for a specialist (in my case engineer) shows (TXT_KEY_CITYVIEW_EMPLOYED_AT 3:c5culture: 3:greatwork: -3:c5food:)

Thanks for reporting. Here's the new version for VP 2.2
Changes:
- Added the free specialist indicator
- Integrated culture display, city raze, resource demanded changes from VP-EUI, and also the compatibility with HungryForFoods religious purchases in puppets. I think that worked with ICV in any case but better to have the code as similar as possible with VP-EUI.
- Fixed errors.

As usual needs more testing, let me know if you run into any issues.

Yeah culture display is bugged in VP 2.2. I'll update the ICV when VP gets fixed.

Edit: I reverted VP's change, this seems to fix the issue but I haven't tested much. Try both versions, see which one is more accurate. Savegame compatible

Just confirming that v13a is the newest version. I read elsewhere that there might be another update for the citizen logic.

Is the absence of pics for faith purchase and ongoing research from this mod or do I have a faulty installation?

That looks normal. What is the issue? The icon showing which tech is being researched was removed, but can be brought back by changing a setting in a file as I recall it. You can just mouse over the tech (blue beaker etc) and click on it brings up the tech screen, same with the policy and faith. They really just changed the looks of the bar. If you can't see it or bring it up anyway then something is probably faulty.

Just updated from VP 2.4.1 and it wasn't like that since 2.4 came out so it is a surprise to me. I don't like it.

Extra clicks

but can be brought back by changing a setting in a file as I recalll it.
I just looked at the last 2-3 pages of this thread and couldn't find that information, what setting etc. Will just get rid of the mod I guess.

VP v2.7 update bring a happiness rework, which changed some of the UI codes related to it.
CityView.lua has a tiny change regarding this.

I fixed, tested it and it worked fine.
