TO: Sweden
FROM: Pierre Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada.
SUBJECT: Demands to enter alliance.

Canada does not see Sweden as the legitimate power in South America, the entire purpose of the aliance was to include American nations, not European.

Do not take this as hostilitites torwards your nation, but your nation will not be included in our alliance.

TO: President Gustavo Bergero and President Cain
FROM: Pierre Trudeau, of Canada
SUBJECT: A request.

With American operations underway in Central America, we suggest our forces centralize on certain territories to force out the rebels.

American air power is the key here, the Jungles of Panama and Nicarigua are very dense, and partisans can easily hide out.

If you request our forces presence there, we will give them.

Subj: Deplorable atrocities in Panama

It had come to my attention that appearantly Germany has made a lapse in her tradition of defending people's rights of all creed, nationality, race and beliefs.

These depraved acts of violence must end; obviously, the Panamanian rebels have a reason to do so. Oppression should never be tolerated, and under the watchful eye of the Weimar Republic never shall.

Germany offers the North American alliance a negotiation phase with the Panamanian rebels in Berlin, where I in person will moderate.

It seems that the world is falling back to Monarchy and Feudalism after so many years of freedom. We cannot let that happen--we will fight for our freedoms and those of others to no bounds. I sware that.

If in America there can be no final resolution, then we shall reconsider America's actions. However, for the time being, the ruthless killing and smiting of innocent women and children by the American bombers cannot be tolerated.

FROM: The DEMOCRACY of Canada
SUBJECT: Response

Canada is outraged torwards Germanies baseless accusations.

Civilians have been specificly avoided while fighting the rebels. The rebels themselves have been burning and looting the villages on the countryside of Panama.

We expect a public apology from Germany for her outragous comments.

And if she is so concerned with the conditions of colonies that you have no information on, other then the propoganda being sent by the rebels, prehaps you should take a look at your own colonies.

Once agian, the European nations have shown there lust for attacking American affairs.

To: Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau

Subj: Re: Response

Mr. Trudeau, it was not my intention to upset you so, but the fact remains that the Panamanian's revolts are being responded with by brute force. Therefore there is no possibility of a withdrawl or apology of/for my statements.

My reports come from international headlines, Mr. Trudeau; perhaps it would do you good to lock over them. You claim that civilians have been specifically avoided, however it is only 1935. Accurate bombing is not possible with the technology my, or any other nation possesses. Not only that, but I think you'd agree that it is hard to distinguish between a rebel soldier and a 4-year-old Panamanian girl from such high altitudes.

Several nations have made attacks now and in the past of my nation's colonies in Africa; however, I would like to remind them that there are no rebels there as there are now in Panama. The citizens of the German Congo have full voting rights for their semi-autonomous state. We keep our people happy--perhaps it would do you good to do the same.

Subject: Asian Pact

We greet our two friends, Japan and Russia. After hours of debate, I have decided that our three nations form a mutual protection pact, the Asian Pact. I am sure our countries can share the massive economic and military benefits of such an agreement. Please join China in our quest for the ultimate friendship between our neighboring nations.

We will continute our actions untill our ally Brazil sees fit for us to stop.

As for your comments on bombing..

The majority of our Air Forces are targeting KNOWN rebel forts only, open groups are left unmolested as are the major towns and villages.

Of coruse we do not have "Percision Bombing" but like in any war, there are casulauties. We try to minimize them, but there is no way to completley stop it.

We understand your concerns but Humanitarian efforts are nigh on impossible in the middle of a Civil War.

The conflict will be resolved as soon as the rebels are no longer are a threat.

To: PM Trudeau
Fr: Pres. Cain

I appreciate your support in this matter, and am glad we have similare views concerning the European powers. We have suffecient air power in the region to combat the rebels, but any assistance is of course gratefully accepted. I look forward to working with you in reaching some long term goals in the Americas.

To: Germany
Fr: USA

Baseless accusations referring to a return to Monarchy, when in fact this government is elected by the common man and woman of the citizenry, seem ridiculous. The state of American Panama has the same rights as any other state, and the native Spanish speaking population can acquire citizenship easily. We have no need of German negotiation of any kind. Kindly keep to your own affairs, as this government will do as well.

From: Sweden
I see now that this "american" alliance is not for peace, but for killing freedom fighters. I request that you, as an ally and member of The Venice Pact, leaves the "american" alliance now. The Venice Pact will guarantee your protection from the evil N. Americans.

"My friends, the world is shattered by many decisive events all over the world.Because Brazil is a great nation and will stay a great nation I will act wisely and for the best of our people.

I say to our allies and friends in Sweden:The American alliance is not evil.It is designed to include all Americans for a common better future. We can not ignore realities,Sweden is no original American nation,so it can not become a full member of the AA.But you could become an associated member with open borders for your citizens visting their Spanish fellows in Brazil and the U.S. and probably the installation of a FTAA.But I urge you not to name the rebels in Panama and Colombia as "Freedom fighters" again.

I say to our allies in Canada and America:Let us see the realities and make Sweden an associated member of the AA.With an angered Sweden no peace can be reached in the Americas. And I assure America we will capture all Panamese rebels fled into Brazil. But I have noticed I will not make it in the jungles alone. So i request the help of my allies Canada and Brazil.

I say to the Colombian and Peruvian rebels:You saw what happened with your criminal friends in Panama. This is your last chance:If you do not surrender completely within 1 week we will start all necessary actions together with other AA troops to save our peaceful population.

I say to the world:Brazil and Rio de Janeiro are ready and joyful to host the next Olympics here due to the catastrophy which hit Greece. This may also better our relations with our former enemy."

Phillipe Henry Wins A Close Election!
Phillipe Henry began his second term as French President despite a close battle between himself and Socialist Freedom Party leader Franc Bertrand. Henry won with 56% of the French population behind him a far cry from his last victory of 74%.

From The French Parisian:
Unemployment Out Of Control!
Unemployment has soared during President Phillipe Henry's reign as French President. In 1931 the amount of unemployed in France was around 2 million but has since risen to 8 million in 1935.
This rise has been blamed on the fact that foreign labor in French controlled colonies is far cheaper than in France itself. These figures were a terrible blow to President Henry and were the main reason for the close election results.
Experts expect the figures to continue to rise unless something is done soon.

President Phillipe Henry Unveils New Unemployment Plan:
President Phillipe Henry has unveiled a new plan to combat French unemployment.
New Plan:
The plan is supposed to seperate all the French colonies into independant states, this will then in turn mean that French companies will have to start paying more money to employ workers from these new states.
The plan also covers the idea of making worker's unions to protect a workers right to a job and fair pay.
Although opposition leader Franc Bertrand has been holding fierce stand agianst the idea, he believes that only the state control of the economy and tighter restrictions on privtae companies will drive down the figures.
All will be decided in due time.

Greece welcomes Brazil's offer to host the Olympics, and assure them that they will consider the bid without any bias due to former tensions.

Greece also welcomes other bids. Once it has received three, it will be considering: ease to get to stadium(car parking etc), money spent on it by state, and how close it is to a possible war zone(ie; safety of visitors can be guaranteed). Once it has chosen one, then the torch will begin it's journey there, in this, the first Olympics held outside Greece.

OOC: If you want, the person who hosts the Olympics can say who won what etc, or just say which country won it and which came second etc in a newspaper headline.

The French Government has given full support and funding for a French bid to host the Olympics.
We have a large selection of possible sites with plenty of space and a hard-working commitee dedicated to bringing the Olympics to France.
The Commitee is made-up of French Sports And Recreational Minister Jacques Mitrand, manager of the French World-Cup winning team Louis De Gaul and French Olympics Coach Joel Sung-Hi.
Yours,
Jacques Mitrand

President Phillipe Henry:
"People of France, I would like to unveil to you my new 4 year plan for cutting unemployment. Next year in May in all our overseas colonies we shall be holding referendums on independance. Not only will this give the people of these countries a new independance but also stop the large amounts of economic migrants entering France and taking French jobs. This plan will also mean that French companies will be coaxed into employing their work-force from the French population.
I would also like to unveil the first worker's unions. These unions will have the job of securing worker equality and looking out for their members well-being.
I have also commisioned a bid to host the Olympics in France, I hope that this will help encourage overseas businesses into building new factories in France and help stimulate the Fench economy.
This is the begining of a new era in French history, we must be ready!"

Romanov leant back, put his feet up on the desk (mrs. Romanova would kill him if she saw him doing that) and unfolded the papers.
Life was good, life was quiet, and life was comfortable.
No wars worth worrying about, no conflicts he was involved in, no enemies that he knew of...
Life was almost a little too boring. Romanov noted that for the first time in ages he could read the papers all the way through, and that thought annoyed him.

Russia applies to host the next Olympic Games
In a letter sent to Greece today, the Russian IOC applied to host the next round of the prestigious competition.
The letter, containing details about all aspects of the hosting, has been held closely guarded, but certain aspects have leaked out, including certain alluding tidbits about a whole new Arena, sports center, Athletes village, Press Building, Stadium, Swimming Hall, several hotels, and huge parking facilities to be built outside Moscow.

Tadsjik terrorists on the run
After several weeks of uneventful raids on seemingly empty camps, the Army says that it feels they have eliminated the terrorist presence that has been plagueing the mountainous province of Tadsjikistan for several years.
Despite repeated pleas for assistance from the local police and security forces in earlier years, what finally sparked this large crusade to clean up the region was an attempt on the Premiers life during a state visit to South Africa.
A local farmer we intervued expressed his gratitude to the army for finally making the area safe again, but also voiced the opinion that "it's about #?%*@€ time!"

Ruble reaches all-time high
Thanks to the booming oil industry around the Caspian and several other very successful commercial ventures that have sprung up since the democratization of Russia, in addition to wise taxation and resource allocation programmes on the part of the government, the Ruble is doing better against foreign currency than ever before. Another contributing factor, says economists, is that foreign countries seem to be having a much harder time in recent years, thus making their currencies less valuable.

To Chairman Matt Sung-Hui of China:
Japan welcomes your initiative and will be signing your pact of mutual protection and cooperation. In times like this, when alliances are formed all the time, no country can afford to stay on its own. May our nations both benefit from this agreement. We suggest to call our pact the Asian League to better distinguish it from the Venice Pact and the American Alliance.
Furthermore Japan informs you that We will be taking action against Spain soon and hope for your support.
Yours, Emperor Kwan-Sn

To Don Daze II of Spain:
We are very displeased that Spain has not deemed it necessary to acknowledge our suggestion. You did not try to talk with Japan at all. You should know by now that piracy is on the rise again and that my fleet constantly has to fight off pirate attacks. Japan's Secret Service also has found further circumstantial evidence that can only lead to the conclusion that your nation is to be held responsible for the sinking of about 20 percent of my Merchant Fleet.
Therefore We have sent TaskForces 7 and 10 to deal with the situation. They will be blockading your ports in New Guinea and also carry my inspection teams which will be sent ashore to conduct their investigations. We urge you not to interfere with our operation, its purpose is to prove your country innocent.
Emperor Kwan-Sn

To the rest of the world:
Japan's Secret Service has found evidence that Spain is involved in pirate attacks that destroyed a large part of my merchant fleet. In order to prevent any further attacks We will blockading New Guinea and have sent in teams to find the responsibles. We have tried to contact Spain but without success, so Japan deems its actions to be legal; We have the right to defend our people and our interests. Any nation that wants to participate in Our campaign to end piracy is free to join Us.
Yours, Emperor Kwan-Sn

If the U.S agrees with this arrangement with Sweden (and if Sweden herself agrees) then Canada will support the entrance of the South American colonies of Sweden.

Canada applies for an Olympic Bid.

A new multiplex stadium is being build in Toronto, with all the major Olympic events able to be held.

A new Olympic Taxi service, and small village outside Toronto is also being build for the Atheletes.

Okay, I have four bids for the Olympics so far. I've decided I will accept six bids, then roll a dice to see who wins the bid.

The complex will include all these features:

Most events would take place in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. For athletics, opening and closing ceremonies a new 160,000 Simon-Bolivar-Stadium would be built. The olympic village will be built about 5 km away from core of Rio.In line with this an infrastructure program will begin;we plan to increase percentage of electricity supply to all Brazilians from 28 to 50%.

Okay, so we have Canada, France, Brazil and Russia bidding for the Olympics. Two more countries and I'll roll the dice.

REMEMBER TODAY AND TOMORROW ARE BUYING DAYS! 250 GOLD FOR EVERYONE!

I have decided that this will be the last week where you get 250 gold, from then on it will DECREASE TO 100 GOLD.

Remember only 10 in an army!

And if Dazer doesn't buy by Sun. night, he's out of it(I still haven't received first day buying orders!).

Oh, and finally, Wednesday will now become a combat resolution day as well as an order day!

Nemesis

One last thought. Remember if you give attacking orders on Wednesday or Sat/Sun, you must give one day's advance notice to the defender by posting it here(you don't have to say what you'll attack with, or even what area, just give them notice so they can give defending orders!).

And on Wednesday, PLEASE DON'T PM ME YOUR ENTIRE ARMY'S DEPLOYMENTS!! All I need is the name of each army and what it's orders are. Remember I already have the deployments in a file. But please do include deployments on Sat/Sun buys :p

And to anyone joining, you're allowed to spend the money you would have had if you'd been here the entire game, at this moment 1000 gold!
