Despite this nation's misgivings, the other two honorable members of this alliance have seen fit to grant your request, so the United States shall support her allies and approve your entrance in an associate status into the AA. Before that happens, the US requires an apology regarding the Panamanian incident. Calling these lawless rebels 'freedom fighters' is an insult to this nation and to the people whose families were kidnapped, tortured, and murdered by these rebels. If Finnish 'freedom fighters' descended from the hills, lobbed mortar shells into a marketplace, and looted the town, your actions would be much the same as our own. They would be branded rebels and dealt with in the most expeditious way possible, to preserve the lives of your citizens. Before you apologize, the US will not support your entrance into the AA.

The United States would like to invite the Olympic Games to New York City, a true cosmopolitan city and jewel of North America.

New York offers many fine playing fields, courts, gymnasiums, and waterways. Spacious accomodations would of course be constructed or contracted out, while all services of any kind would be attended to, be it dining, travel to and from events, lodging, ticket sales, or a myriad of others.

Come to New York, let the First Olympic Games shine in the splendor they deserve to!

Germany Makes Her Olympic Bid
The German government of Conrad von Hotzendorf today placed their bid to hold the first Olympic ceremony in the city of Berlin. Hotzendorf pointed out that Berlin would be the most suitable place, the capital of the new and beuatiful Weimar Republic; a Republic that has, as he stated, been "a huge milestone for the path of Democracy". Berlin is planned to be rennovated, taking up much of the German economy which has seen only minor growth this year. It has been said that it is worth it, as the Olympic ceremonies being held in Berlin would culminate the days of the new era of freedom.

Germany signs alliance with Russian Federation
Conrad von Hotzendorf's foreign minister to Moscow, Gustav Feignligne, today reported that an official alliance had been signed with the government of Premier Romanov. While the government remains suspicious of the motives of Romanov's assistant Yuri ( ) the pact was signed as soon as was possible. Hopes for a better tomorrow run high after this monumentous event.

Germany suggests embargo of Olympics in New York
Conrad von Hotzendorf today suggested that the Olympics be embargoed by all humanitarian nations should the location of New York be chosen. The fact that America not only has bombed and killed Panamanians but refused any attempts at negotiation with a German moderater pits the conservative German government in an odd situation.
However, the German athletes are expected to do very well in Gymnastics and Weight Lifting.

Socialists gain popularity in France
With the sudden decrease of Henry Phillippe's popularity in France, and the fact that her economic state has become so poor that she is considering selling her colonies has resulted in a veritable boom in Socialist popularity. In the last electon, Mr. Phillippe won only by a small margin of 6%.
This has, of course, set off giant alarms in Germany. The fear of having a Communist neighbor, so long an enemy and so great a power sends adrenaline running through the veins of the Rhineland citizens. If France becomes a Communist nation, what is to become of this new era of freedom?

PRIME MINISTER IN CRITICAL CONDITION

Following several weeks' speculation over prime minister Farid al-Qafar's low profile, it was finally revealed in a press conference today that the prime minister fell victim to an attempted assassination by a radical fundamentalist group and has since been recovering at an undisclosed medical site. Government officials told the press that they kept the attempt a secret to avoid showing a moment of weakness, but now feel confident in the prime minister's recovery and secure that they have eliminated the most threatening elements facing his return.

French Colonies Up For Sale
France's South Asian Colonies have gone up for sale today at $130,000,000. This is half of what they were expected to enter the market at. The French authorities hope that an Asian nation shall make a bid and that the lands shall be sold by March next year.

SFP Leader Franc Bertrand In His Weekly Newspaper Column
"I would like to begin my column by condemning the Berliner Zeitung for branding my party communist! We are by no means communist or Marxist, we uphold an ideal of equality and state control of the economy to ensure that the French people's best interests are attended too. My party's rise in popularity is due to the fact that the French people are sick of being forced out of work by greedy employer's and companies and they desire to be given a fair opportunity..."

As glad as I am to see you using your right to protest, I would like to again point out that the Berliner Zeitung is not a government-owned newspaper but a privately run business. If you do have an issue with the statement you should take it up with the editor and not my government.
It is a common mistake.

The colonies are selling at 130g. France shall be more than glad to sell the colonies onto Germany in the knowledge that they shall be joining a free and properous democracy.

Premier Romanov's Personal Assistant Yuri dismissed from government in disgrace
After NKVD operatives uncovered a large secret research facility, apparently funded by Yuri's private assets, in the wastes of Siberia, the Premier immediately dismissed him from the service of the country. All his assets have been frozen, he himself has been placed in house arrest, and the lab has been sealed off, pending further investigation into the matter. The local police believe the lab may be connected to a spate of mysterious disappearances reported in the area. If this is true, Yuri may be facing at best a life sentence, at worst the death penalty.

Last remaining Tadsjik terrorist camps found
Today the Army officially declared it's action against the Tadsjik terrorist groups a complete success, as the last of the camps were pinpointed and annihiliated, thanks in part to the help and information of locals who were tired of being oppressed by the viscious and whimsical groups that were hiding in the hills. According to one of the locals, they had increasingly been "stealing chickens and harassing the women" in recent months.
Spontaneous celebrations were held in many of the larger cities of Tadsjikistan today after the Army made the declaration.

Nicolay had been deeply shocked by the stories of Yuri's clandestine efforts, but not entirely surprised. He'd always been an odd one. Brilliant, but odd.
As he took a long sip from his tea, Romanov reflected that it was probably just as well he had been dismissed. He had a feeling that too much contact with his advisor may well have proved unhealthy in the long run...
"Ach, the world is getting too complicated. I think that after I've completed my dispatches, I'm going to go play with my 'armies' for a while..."

To Chairman Matt Sung-Hui of the Chinese Republic
We are seriously considering joining your Asian Alliance, and would love to send diplomats to attend a sumit where we can hammer out a deal.
Yours sincerely
Premier Nicolay Romanov

To: The American Alliance
From: Sweden
What was just suggested by this alliance was exactly what I said from the beginning that the alliance should only include my s. american colony. It is strange that my ally, Brazil, needs to tell you that before you get it. It seems to me that N. America is too Europe hostile. Therefore I will not join it anymore. I also support the statement made by Germany that New York should not hold the Olympics.
I will however take back what I said about those rebels as my ally and friend Brazil wants so. I will not say anything else about that matter and leave that to the american alliance.

The Olympics are meant to encourage peace, to bring all nations together peacefully onto a fair field and compete athletically. The United States and her citizens support this idea wholeheartedly. While others in Europe misrepresent us as a monarchy or a feudal state, our governemnt has assured wider freedoms than any government before or since it. If the nations of Europe were to embargo a New York Olympic Games, it would just show Europe's blind aggression against the USA slighting the Games of some of its' most competitive athletes.

I will also send my best athletes although I still think that New York is the wrong place for the olympics.

Am I really so surrounded by spineless followers of appeasment who would put world peace above the fundamental rights people? Has the world really become afraid of itself that they would not stand up for what is right, even in a simple demonstration as not attending Olympics in a nation that is a known human rights abuser? It's barbaric! We must stand up for what we believe in, or lose faith in our beliefs and have nothing left.

Show me this isn't so.

Yuri escapes prison under mysterious circumstances
Last night the disgraced former advisor Yuri escaped from the cell where he was being held, pending trial for multiple offences.
According to officials, he escaped from the prison he had been moved to by, quote: "Hypnotizing them and then forcing them to release him from his cell." The guards apparently remember these events occuring, but do not remember having any control over their own faculties.
A nationwide manhunt, led by an elite NKVD division, has been launched to locate and apprehend the escapee, who is described as extremely dangerous.

Russian athletes set to go to New York for Olympic Games
"Although we understand Germany's concern, we think that Greece may perhaps have chosen to set the Olympic Games in New York for the specific purpose of bringing the nations together and healing the wounds caused by the viscious exchange of words between the United States and several of the european nations recently." said the head of the Russian IOC branch, Piotr Smirnoff.
Russia will be sending athletes to compete in all the branches.

Top News: Civil War In Germany! Berlin Stock Market Crashes, Communist Rebellions Break Out Nation-Wide!
Maximillian Daniels for the Chicago Tribune, Berlin

Today, Dec. 14 1935, the Berlin Stock Market dropped over 500 points with the destruction of almost all Berlin gas stations by the terrorist group, Rotes Jihad, in the German African colony.

The Reichsmark, recently introduced on near parity with the Franc, has already inflated 20%.

In the wake of this huge monstrosity, oil prices in Germany have skyrocketed. The whole amount was planned to be rebought from Iran, however, before the government could take any action the Deutsche Kommunistische Partei (DKP) staged massive revolts in Prussia, Bavaria and Silesia.

What caused such an uncanny rip from Germany's traditionally conservative ways? It is believed, by both myself and by and large the world populace, that hardly any German family is prepared to face the inflation and economic crisis of 1923. The DKP, which was rumored to have been supported by the Islamic factions of Iran, now stands strong with an army nearly the size of Weimar Germany.

Chancellor von Hotzendorf, whom has only been Chancellor for 5 months now, is reportedly safe but will not leave Berlin.

"Democracy makes its stand here," he said. "Germany is the battlefield of a falsified utopia and a realistic representational government. Myself, my generals and my army shall fight to the last breath of the last man; we will not surrender."

This has seemed to show Germany's mercurial ways. After the failure of the Olympic embargo of New York the German Olympic team was said to have already left by blimp for New York.

The leader of the DKP, Lukas Getschreibben, has not only fought alongside his up-to-date army which had been training underground for over a year, but also the German Socialist Party leader, Rainart Heidelsdt. With this, virtually the whole liberal left-wing in Germany has taken up arms with the Republic.

What is to be the outcome of this Civil War? I cannot say; the sides are too evenly matched, too reputed, too determined. However, I can say this: whoever's side loses will suffer a huge loss.
