Ultrastring Theory

I am playing Test of Time and want to research Ultrastring theory. If I hit "goal", it will say then research ultrastring theory as if it was an option on offer when in fact it's not. How do I get to Ultrastring Theory, do I have to get to a certain level of Future Technology first or is that just for when you have run out of everything else.

Researching Ultrastring Theory has nothing to do with how much Future Tech you have (btw, the maximum for that is 250, after which it starts over at 1).

What it does depend on is certain tech that you've gained from the aliens (if you are playing one of the human civs) or from the humans (if you're one of the alien civs).

This is the reason you do NOT want to completely kill off the other set of enemies before you get to Nona.

Some techs depend on building certain units; others depend on previously-shared tech. Some degree of cooperation is necessary (no matter how tempting it might be to just kill them ).
