Unable To Download Mods: Server doesn't support necessary HTTP protocol. etc

When i go into the Civ 5 mod interface and select a mod or map to download i get an error. It says " Server doesn't support necessary HTTP protocol. Background Intelligent Transfer Service requires that the server support the Range Protocol Header". So, what have i done wrong? Ive tried everything i can think of and it still gives the same error.

Please someone help. Im running windows xp.

Everytime I try to download a mod I get the error "Background intelligent transfer service doesn't support ranged protocol" which is strange because I have no proxy server. I tried disabling my virus checker and firewall but no luck. Could it be a router issue?

What exactly does this mean? Im dying to download this, is there a way to do this outside of the Civ 5 menu?

When you install Civ5 it asks to make an exception in your fireball. Ive never seen that error before, but is it possible you didnt allow it to open the port?

It has been mentioned that it's probably an issue with gamespy, so there's nothing what we could do at the moment.

Where in steam do I go to download the cradle of civ map pack?I have tried everything,and I did put in my key code.

I was about to post about this, at least I am not the only one, so hopefully there should be a fix soon. I was able to download Oceania map but not World Map with real locations. Hopefully there will be a fix soon.

I hope this is a joke. If we have to use gamespy to get/update mods this game is beyond fail. In fact, I can't even believe gamespy still exists given their crappy service, support, and netcode.

The problem is known, but not yet the solution.

I hope this is a joke. If we have to use gamespy to get/update mods this game is beyond fail. In fact, I can't even believe gamespy still exists given their crappy service, support, and netcode.

Mods can still be distributed via the normal way, meaning the forum here, but it seems that there are currently a lot of more problems with mods, we have to wait some days .

If you have your steam folder somewhere other than C:\Steam, then mods don't currently work.

It has already been mentioned by Dennis Shirk, that this problem will get fixed with the next patch, so stay tuned .
