Unable to install

I purchased the CD version of the game. When I try to install it checks for DirectX and then it tells me that there is a patch for Warlords and after a while the install program ends with out asking for the 2nd CD. It did create an icon on the desktop. When I double click on it it is a BOS logo and it tell me that I have the wrong CD in the drive. It makes no difference if I have CD 1 or CD 2 in the drive, neither works.

You probably do not have all of the most recent patches for the game. Try updating the game and you should be able to complete the installation.

I'm having the same problem. But there is no way to install the update like the guy above says if you cannot install the program to update?

I cannot install AT ALL.

I press Install, it gives an hourglass, and then nothing but he hourglass. It doesn't proceed!

WTH!?!?!

EDIT: I patched my video card. NOW it works. How is anyone supposed to know that this problem is caused by outdated video drivers???

I had a similar problem. During the Directx update, the install would just stop, the PC got incredibly slow - even though nothing showed CPU consumption on the task manager (Directx update went to 0), then after a few minutes, the PC would reboot (configured that way after a blue screen). I tried everything to get past this including updating all drivers, uninstalling and reinstalling CIV, and manually patching, and defragging the disk. I verified the disks were good by installing BTS easily on another machine.

The solution for me was to update the nVidia nForce4 chipset on my motherboard. I came to that step by process of elimination.
