Under Construction: George W. Bush leaderhead (3d - anim - era)

I like the LH a lot, and can't wait to blow him up (that wasn't actually partisan, the Americans always declare war on me in-game for some reason)... I think he should say "terrism", since that's about the only thing I like about him. I just love to here him say it over and over.

For the background, I would go with either the White House or just the American flag. I think the oval office is just sort of a weird choice is all.

Toward the poverty thing, that's what capitalism does. People generally look out for their own interests, and money is power. So why would the people in power (the rich) put through laws that help the poor (i.e. take money from them)? I'm not attacking Bush, or the Republican party, I'm attacking rich politicians of any sort. A rich, generous, and really nationally benecial politician is a hard thing to find, and they usually come from poverty or have seen its effects first hand. Everytime they change the system to benefit the poor, they really just take another step toward socialism (stopping monopolies, enfocing some monopolies like electric companies and such, war-time economies, welfare, et cetera, et cetera).

Toward the actual debate, I think Bush should have just said, "Sadam's evil (which is true), he's got oil (also true), we need oil (true), and he wants to kill my dad, a former president and an American citizen (true)... So lets bomb the living --explitive-- out of him, and set up a democracy." I wouldn't have really any problems with that. But when you try that whole WMD thing (when we GAVE him biochemical weapons, and taught him how to MAKE nukes) and the terrorist connection idea, I just feel lied to and basically betrayed. And with only 1 in 20 bags checked, the cargo holds unchecked, 5% of ships checked, and the fact that a once docile nation (terroristically... if that's a word) that is now raging with insurgencies, I can't say that I feel safer jsut 'cause Billy can't get hitched. What about Saudi Arabi (if I remember correctly, 6 of the 11 high-jackers were), Iran (5 of the 11), and Afghanastan (1 of the 11)?... Iran freakin' HELPED Iraq in the war by giving them night-vision goggles (one of our major advantages). What about North Korean, flaunting nuclear weapons when they aren't suppose to have any? How can I feel safe, when what is probably one of the only countries that didn't have WMD's and wasn't "out for American blood" as it were, is invaded, yet real, overt threats to our safety go unchecked...

Well, thanks to the Christian right, the redneck south, and the republican status quo, those threats can linger... 'Cause Bush wants Cuba now... Oh yeah, there's a threat. They got nukes out the --explitive--... Gays can't get married, and pretty soon teach (if they can get their way, which they will), the economy's in the whole (according to all the statistics, but of course no Republican's going to admit it), and the world pretty much hates us, as far as I can see from my skewed, censored, and distroted little American perch. But, of course, that's all the Pagans' and Jews' fault right? Or at least that's what the Catholic League president would tell you... No wait, it must be the gays, of course. Sodomy looses jobs, everyone knows that. No? Then it must be us sinners, atheists, hedonists, agnostics, et cetera... How dare us not want a government-supported, religious holiday... And when I say "us", I mean all of "us", because we're all in it together. They Chruch system and Christian right knows that; I mean, with the organization that they have put together, they must know what kind of an... Organization we've put together.

I won't respect Bush, I can't respect the Christian right (they don't respect me in the least, obviously), and I refuse to ever respect the greedy, self-profiting, bourgeoisie...

Sorry to OT, but I've taken a lot of very harsh criticism from other students about being communist, anti-Bush, and very liberal.

Bolshevik, thanks for the suggestions (background, diplomacy.txt...), but we can't turn the thread political again ;) About the diplomacy I don't think he must say the Saddam name or other famous leader, he could say something like "LEADER NAME, u tried kill my people in the past and know we are strike back" or "LEADER NAME, we know u have weapons that could be used against us, surender right now" :)

Oh yes, I've got the diplomacy file half-completed. And I'm being careful to make it flexible, so it's all LEADERNAME this and that and so on. Where possible I'm using actual quotes from the man himself, too, to keep it fair.

I think the oval office is just sort of a weird choice is all.

What? Why? The oval office is intimately associated with the office of the president.

And please let's talk about the leaderhead and NOT politics!

Personally, I think that talk about this thread gone anti-bush as per the things he would say is totally off. Don't get me started on my attitude towards Bush, but basically what I'm saying is this:

People are not always trying to make political observations when they mock someone like Bush. I mean, if a leader, or important political personality (intentionally or not) makes an ass out himself in public, then he/she deserves to get donkey-calls after him/her. I mean, look at Kim Jong-Il. Who takes the man seriously? I mean, whats he done, produced three operas and played an 18-point game of golf when he first tried the sport? (For those unfamiliar with the sport, it's scdoring 18 hole-in-ones in a row, thus passing with the best score possible, no matter how impossible it actually is...)
He is ridiculous in the eyes of the public (outside his own country, that is...) even though people are wary because of claims of WMDs.
Bush makes foolish comments, making himself look like an idiot to be frank. And if people reflect this public image these rulers have made themselves by echoing their comments, its not anti-bushism, or a political statement. Hell, even if I did support Bush, at least I'd have the sense of humor to acknowledge that he's funny, unintentionally.

Lighten up people, for heavens sake. We are indeed talking about a game here. Lets let this corner of reality stay at least somewhat on the eaasier-going side life, ok?

And by the way, I really like the look of the Bush LH, just the hair bugs me... Could Bush be possible wearing his Texas-ranger hat? :D

Kim Jong-Il takes Kim Jong-Il seriosuly. For my Modern Korea class I just got to play him in a 'Nightlien Confrence Roleplay'. That was fun as all get out, calling Humaqnitarians liars. "THERE IS NO FAMINE! YOU LIE!" and "I AM NOT SHORT! YOU LIE!" and "AMERICA AND JAPAN IS THE AXIS OF EVIL!" And He hasn't simply made claims that he has WMDs... he actually has some nukes, or aleast most of the parts. And thoes missiles he has, the Teapdong missiles. Wooo. You know he could hit Honalulu with one of them fellers? (Would make a nice Civ unit, And the reason why DPRK (North Korea) is beign so billgenernt recently is Bush. He completely reversed all the diplomatic talks we had with him under the Cliton Administraion and demands that the DPRK like, withdraws its army from the 38th Parallel before Bush'll even Think of talking. If you were Kim and the DPRK would you do that?

..And I'm way off topic.. but the Moral of the story is Korean History and East Asian History in General is Cool.
