I recently installed a new graphics card to make this game run more smoothly, it now runs a lot more smoothly but crashes very early on in the game with no explanation, before the installation the game ran fine. I have absolutely no idea what to do!
I've found that if I play without mods, I can get a couple more turns out of it but it still crashes.
I'm running Vista and my new card is an ATI Radeon HD 3400, I had no problems with my old card which was an inbuilt ATI card.
I couldn't find anything particularly odd in the log files, though I wasn't sure what I should be looking for.
Noticed in someone else's thread a comment about an event viewer, this is the information I get regarding the crash in the event viewer-
Faulting application Civ4BeyondSword.exe, version 3.1.9.0, time stamp 0x4a0c27e6, faulting module CvGameCoreDLL.dll, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x4b634802, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x000f7a30, process id 0x440, application start time 0x01caca3f7457a700.
I have BTS patched up to the latest version.
I've had no difficulties with any other game, just this one. :-\
