UNGY7 We'll do it by ourself

So maybe nat it should be, that golden age from Taj is fine.

That's the decision I eventually came to. My thinking is that we really want to race to astro/nat/rifling/steel or something like that for a war of expansion.

As for techs that help us along --banking is the biggie. Astro is also very good--we get the UB with an artist. Con let's us build a colosseum in the capital, MC gives us 1 happy with the forge.

The problem I see with DR, is that I'm not sure we want to invest in all those religious buildings, and it's a high sunk cost--not just the useless DR, but very likely giving up the taj, also some chance of missing it, and delaying banking.
By going lib-nat, we should be able to revolt to banking in a GA with the taj.

920 change Orleans to Uni, whip Uni in Paris--missionary.

980 run to lib at 100%.
Found Avignon on Snowly's site.

1010 GG born.

1030 lib-nat set research to MC

1040 Uo S in --uni.

1060 MC in--set research to machinery at 0. We want that whether we go banking or optics first.

1070 AP built--buddhist, sistene built. Prophet born--we build shrine.

1080 Colosseus built--wow that's late.
unis are in we start on Oxford.

Slave revolt in Washington:(

I'll hand it off as we have a decision to make about optics vs. banking. I'd be inclined to go banking--that'll just be a big boost to economy.

Note that I took the corn back to Washington from Tours--once we grow Washington that can go back. Since we're indu I built forge before Taj in Washington.

I'm thinking HE in Washington and Globe in Reims?

I notice there's a border pop to the SE--we have Izzie there I think. If she had optics we'd have contact:

Good points, i agree Taj and revolting to merc is a big boost. After machinery optics needs compass. Banking needs guilds. Well guilds is a more expensive than compass but atm banking is more important than optics i think, big boost for economy and free with the taj. Optics allows us to scout early and satisfy our curiosity but that's about it, we can't really do something without astro. There's some chance we can grab economics btw, rest of the world seems to be really backward. Then again eco is useless but we have to tech it eventually so best to get the free GM if possible.

nab construction in 1 turn? for the happy dude?

econ. is on the path to AL; also, great folks can walk around without OB, and an overseas trade mission to the ToA site should generate nice cash. Though I ain't too eager to meet new civs in this game - they seem pretty content to probably hate each other looking at the tech pace, so the later we meet, the better.

It's likely poor Izz has been hit pretty hard. A nice natural target for the warmongers out there. Construction seems like a good idea, we'll need it anyway.

Well according to Snow it's 1 turn and we can build colloseums for what it's worth. Of course there maybe overflow in that turn in which case banking might be delayed by 2 turns (too much).Probably first banking then sneak in construction somewhere.

I'd say it's kind of a low priority--only Paris is near the happy cap and that is 4 over the health cap. So while it can grow, there's not much in it as it's also NE.

Simple plan:

Tech to Banking
Whip the forge and build Moai in island city.
Taj in Washington after forge.

I started the set by whipping several forges, and I do whip a lot others in this set. Also assign Washington's corn to Tours so that it can grow. Start building Taj in Tours, each hammer = 2.5g.

Resume 100% science slider after OU was finished, tech to Banking need more techs than I thought -- Monarch->Feud->Guild->Banking

Slavery event -- at least it's not capital.

Our research power is better than I thought, so I failed to synchronize the teching and completion of Taj.:( Taj can be finished next turn with some starvation.

Save is here.

I'd research Economy next for the GM (do we allow to do the trade mission) and then Optical->Astro (remember our UB) for oversea cities and then Steel to get cannons for some kills next. Our health condition is terrible.:(

Edit: forgot to check whether we build Tao shrine, if so, then it's a mistake not starting cash multiplier there.

Looks good, Tao shrine exists and we should build a grocer there, it's not as if huge amounts of money are at stake here though.

Trade mission is a greedy one way thing instead of a honest trade deal from which both parties involved profit so it's allowed i think.Agree with economics next, doesn't look like anyone has researched it yet.

Isn't bank>grocer since we don't have the health?

Capital should be working corn+specs instead of windmills methinks.

I like econ-optics.

Question--do we want to slip in drama to get started on the Globe (NY I think) or con to get another happy in capital (and maybe another) ?

Seems like we're a ways away from war needing astro + rifles or steel so maybe optics then drama would be enough time?

We're down to four --

Duckweed --just played
Dirk--UP
Ungy --on deck

Yes, we don't have any health resource.
I intend to grow the city and starve for maximum GPP during GA, and windmills are better than mine and unmatured cottages during GA.
