B17 23 + 1 = 24 - Very, very powerful bomber unit - you don't want to be on the receiving end of a B17 attack, but you do most definitely want to be on the delivering end!

Battering Ram 5 Agreed on the ruin upgrade from warrior. Makes it less than conventional for scouting at that point. Even though it's a beast on cities, that's its only purpose. Otherwise, it's weak to melee attacks, leaves you overall vulnerable to mounted units, and becomes obsolete toward the midgame.

Carolean 35
Chu-Ko-Nu 35 Can't say no to a unit that gets two attacks within one turn. Since XBs are a must in all games, getting the range promotion on these guys should seldom prove difficult.

I don't know if it deserves a downvote just because you can cheat to get the same result :p

Looking them up though: privateers with 2 extra promotions and can heal outside friendly territory? This thing looks amazing! I think I should play as the Netherlands for my next game!

Battering Ram 2 Although i admit it is good but it's easy to counter due to their inability to march against melee. High production cost in early games pretty nerf their potential.

Conquistador: Good scout, but settling ability is really map dependent. Wonderful unit when playing on terra, but otherwise it doesn't have much use. Also you lose promoted unit when settling with conquistador. It's good in land combat as a scout as well, but that's pretty much it.

N. elephant: Really powerful unit, that can easily fight toe-to-toe with muskets and even cavalry.

Conquistador - never found these guys as good as I thought they would be, seem very situational

Minuteman - however these are great and keep their ability. In one game as China I kept getting gifted them and my late game army was unstoppable!

Camelz y u no win yet? I don't mind the 1 less movement than Keshiks. It is still enough to move in on a forest tile, shoot, and move out. In return for the small movement cost, you get a much better UA and overpowered UB.

B17: Just personal opinion. One bomber stack is as good as another bomber stack. The AI is terrible at countering any bomber, so it's perks go unnoticed since the base version of the unit ends up being just as powerful. The free promotion is nice to get repair and logistics sooner, but I've never had a problem racking up promo's on air units.

You're not the only one who feels that way. Bombers are amazingly powerful no matter what, the B17 is great and all but it doesn't impact the game much more than a standard bomber does.

Keshik 35- Enough movement to move in on a forest tile, shoot both logistics attacks, and move out. Quick study ensures you get logistics fast too. I try to not include other uniques into my argument but since the bazaar keeps coming up in the CA argument maybe people need to be reminded about the Kahn who perfectly compliments the Keshik and doesn't have its usefulness limited by too much warmongering like the bazaar does.

Free luxuries = free camels.

When war-monger penalties start piling up, you have enough extra copies to trade multiple luxuries for a single luxury you don't have to keep happiness up.

I see Keshiks like the Honor policy: Better for combat, but the AI is so terrible at tactical combat it isn't needed so better to focus on infrastructure instead. Playing as Arabia you are simply given one of the best combat units in the game. No need to divert build order or sacrifice any infrastructure.

If it were earlier like a classical era UU I'd agree but by the medieval your infrastructure should have a pretty healthy start.

Keshik 35 Allows you to use both your logistics shots in one turn, which you got because of the bonus from Khans and Honor. 15+15 is better than 21, and pulls in more xp just as icing on the cake.

Some interesting logic here... battering rams out before units like the hwacha? Really? It's more dominant than just about any UU in its given era but to each his own I suppose.

Regarding camel archers vs. keshiks, camel archers win that battle hands down. They're stronger and are therefore more useful for a longer length of time. The movement points are negligible to me... I typically can accomplish everything I need in 4 movement points without worrying about a 5th.
