As per this thread in the C&C General forum:

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=187612

I would like to develop a list of individual names for the UUs in CIV Gold. I've already done lists for Canada and Ireland. Shqype has taken on Albania and NikNaks93 has offered to do England. That leaves 63 civs up for grabs. :)

I'll take a bunch of them, but if anyone can help out, please sign up and jump on.

What about Finland? Do you want a list of jaeger generals? If so, I could do at least a part of it.

That would work. Or you can use whatever naming conventions the Finnish army uses.

Western Command

Guard Jaeger Regiment (Helsinki)
Helsinki Air Defence Regiment (Hyrylä)
Armoured Brigade (Parola)
Häme Regiment (Lahti)
Signals Regiment (Riihimäki)
Pori Brigade (Säkylä) ( Readiness brigade )
Artillery Brigade (Niinisalo)
Pioneer Regiment (Keuruu)

Eastern Command

Karelia Brigade (Vekaranjärvi) ( Readiness brigade )
Reserve Officer School (Hamina)
Savo Brigade (Mikkeli)
North Karelia Brigade (Kontiolahti)

Northern Command

Kainuu Brigade (Kajaani) ( Readiness brigade )
Jaeger Brigade (Sodankylä)
Lapland Air Defence Regiment (Rovaniemi)

According to Wikipedia, the Jaegar brigade is organized like this:

Jaeger Brigade

* 4 jaeger battalions
* anti-tank guided missile company
* HQ company
* reconnaissance company
* field artillery regiment
* anti-aircraft battalion
* signals company
* logistics company
* engineer battalion

Of course we'd want specific names here.

can you explain what you mean by "individual names"?

In the UnitInfos.xml file, there is a place to put in unique names for each unit - kind of like the city names list for a civ.

So while the Unique Unit for the Americans is the NavySEAL, the NavySEAL entry allows you to put a list a names for that unit. In game terms, that means every NavySEAL you build will have a distinct name.

This field isn't currently used in the game. But it will be now.

oh, i'm apologize, but what i meant was that what kind of names you are looking for. do you mean names of the units' legion or company, or the names of tribes and states, or both?

Sorry, my mistake. I'm looking for the names of the divisions/companies/units/battalions - whatever is most appropriate for the unit.

For instance, the Canadian names are all battalion names.

If Armenia's UU is something other than the Armenian Legionary, like Armenian Guerrila for example, I'll be able to chip in many Unique names. Particularly if the UU was from the Genocide era.

Will the Unique Names Unique Units be in a text format???
If so we best be including those in same format as we have for the TEXT upgrade on the cities... plus be including those on their updated civ text files
that we have been recently working on.

Originally they were included in the UnitInfos file in the same way that cities were included in the CivilizationInfos file. (simpler that way)

In that respect, yes, I think it probably makes more sense to included them in the current civ-specific TXT files.

If this is the case perhaps have them done first and also have the Civ specific files done first too... then It should be easy for you to copy and paste... but... if you want a hand on that... let me know.

I would like to do the list of unique names for Hussar, if you agree. And if so, I understand that I need to create xml file with Hussar's statistics and unique names. I could do this in next week. Is it ok?

Sorry, my mistake. I wasn't sure which post is up to date - the first one, or the second one. I see every civilisation I know something about is already done. Your mod is so lovely that I wish to help you with something else, and in that case I would like to help you with CCP, as you call it. I'll take Yemen, for example.
