yup, it's a close one.

Seriously, I don't care it's just that I'm laughing at the irony here: People told me that if I entered a historical-based infantry unit, I'd be sure to get a lot of votes...

I'd like to collect some running bets I had on that issue now: This is less votes than I usually get for my Fantasy units. :p

Well, my vote is for your unit. :)
A ridiculously difficult decision, but it's nice to see another turn-of-the-century unit. I do hope you plan on doing more.

... so from now on I'll enter whatever I like best and hell with the consequences.
We've heard that one before. :p While deciding who to vote for, I was thinking "Hikaro just won something, he'll never win this month. Now we'll have to listen to those silly complaints again." I've heard more than one professional say that the second (or 5th) Oscar was a let down. I'd just congratulate the winner & move on. Finally, the foremost thing you could do to increase the popularity of your units would be to vary the death animation. I know you like it, but I also know it's the one thing people have consistently commented on. Which doesn't keep me from frequently voting for your stuff - although I usually keep secret when I vote for whoever. 8 vs.19 is
a lot of votes...
;)

Oh, I'm planning on doing more in the future... I really LIKE the Age of Imperialism scenario... I'm even thinking about dusting off the Gatling gun unit, changing the operator's outfit a bit and swapping the gatling gun part of the gun carriage out for a French Mitrailleuse (basically a wierd precursor to the Machinegun developed by France and used in the Franco-Prussian war...)

Hey! I won!! :woohoo:

I can't believe my unit came out #1 out of all these great units!

Yeah, that was definitely some come from behind at the last minute win there.

Great work, Gary!

Can "guests" vote on the polls or only forum members? If guests can, then there are certainly enough of them any given day to run up the poll tally.

EDIT: Actually I guess that wouldn't make much sense if "guests" can vote since there is probably no way to monitor if they vote more than once on a poll. Never mind. Answered my own question I think.

All the units were great.:)

Congratulations on your well deserved victory, Gary.:goodjob:

Congratulations, Gary!

Oh, excellent! AoI is one of my favourite scenarios.

Thank you everyone for what is probably the best competition I've been in so far. I was really on the edge of my seat a few times with all the lead changes that went on in this one. This is really what makes these competitions so much fun.

I'm really sad to see that this is the last one Flamand will be doing. :( Flamand is definitely a guy with style! :) I hope the competitions will continue. They've really given me something to look forward to at the end of the month. The competitions really do give you the incentive to put a little extra into your unit creation.
